Real One player for SuSE 8.2 Professional i386?

I seem to recall there being a beta Real One player in 8.1. I cannot find a Real One player for Linux at www.real.com or anywhere else for that matter. Does any one know if it is available and if so where? Does anyone know if Mozilla (1.4 and later) are going to support the rtsp protocol? TIA. No sound output Fortissimo II

Hi I am using 8.2 and have no sound output from my fortissimo II. I have looked in my /etc/modules.conf and it seems to be setup ok althought there are a few entries in there that confuse me. New Microphone and WebCam

I am trying to prove to various people that they can run an effective basic videoconferencing utility they can use linux and gnomemeeting. However, I am having problems with getting various bits set up. I have plugged my microphone in and the webcam. In YAST2 when I select HW info, it lists the correct USB Cam that I have, but I can't get xawtv to even start (it says /dev/video0 no such device). When I try a basic "rec -d /dev/dsp myfile.wav" it appears to record, but with no sound on playback. I have looked at volume control and the Mic is set up to rec. If I just speak into the mic without anything running, I can hear myself(!) I know this is a lot of queries, but if anyone can help..... Toshiba Tecra 8100 sound problem: SuSE 8.2

Hi, I would like to report a problem with a Toshiba laptop Tecra 8100 : the sound does not work. the laptop has a Yamaha Corporation YMF-744B [DS-1S Audio Controller] (rev 02) sound card and YasT2 found everything ok but can't hear any sound. The volume is not mute. checked with amixer ! I tried to reconfigure the sound but with no luck. Creative SB AWE not recording

Hi, I'm new to this list, so apologies if this is old ground.. I have a Soundblaster AWE64 Gold from Creative Labs running on a SuSE 7.1 install. The card is half-working.. My overall aim is to record audio from line in and output to WAV file. The documents that I've been working from are: Takashi Iwai http://mitglied.lycos.de/iwai/awedrv.html Steve Crowder http://www.dialspace.dial.pipex.com/town/parade/fe88/awe64config.shtml Marcus Brinkman http://homepage.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/Marcus.Brinkmann/Soundblaster-AWE-HOWTO.… and also the Sound HOWTO. From watching the output of dmesg, /var/log/messages and reading from /proc/interrupts and /proc/ioports everything seems ok (i.e. consistent with output from the above authors) with one ommission--the output of /dev/sndstat says 'No such device'. Functionally, the configuration lets me send output to the card--'cat drumroll.au /dev/audio' plays a drum roll, but reading from input fails using the command: 'dd bs=8k count=4 </dev/audio >sample.au'. The config I'm using is based heavily on Steve Crowders document (more below). How to explain the misconfiguration of /dev/sndstat.. Is it likely to be a kernel compilation issue? stand alone mp3 player

Hi, I am running SuSE 8.1 on my system with a USB port. I have a SanDisk reader I use for my digital camera, and SuSE sees it as another HDD. I am wondering if a stand alone MP3 player would work the same way? Maybe I should get rid of tv card and try the Haupage WinTV. Do you get a pretty good picture? I have tried to mute the TV sound but when I do that it interferes with the sound in general. If I try to play a game the sound is muffled. Also it is getting worse. I tried deleting the tv card and reinstalling the card but my sound is mess up. When I exit KDE I hear the exit sound a hundred times and it plays until the log in screen displays. This is becoming a nightmare!. CDRDAO Problem-- actually maybe a SCSI emulation problem

Help again...I still have not solved my problem with the audio yet, but I have a newer more pressing problem. I am tryng to record some old albums I have and transfer to CD. Since I can record the recods now, the problem I have is when I try to burn an "audio" CD (I can burn data CDs with no problems). I get error messages from CDRDAO. It does not know what driver to use with my Lite-on LTR-52246S CD R/W drive. So, reading the general info, I have tried both the "generic-mmc" and the "generic-mmc-raw driver" with the same result (See typical response below). cdrdao ----------------------- ERROR: Illegal option: --driver generic-mmc Cdrdao version 1.1.7 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas(a)daneb.de> SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.
