adding repositories to a fresh instance od an OBS appliance

I have set up a local copy of an obs appliance which works fine. Now I'm trying to figure out how to add the repositories I need to build SLES12SP5 and SLES15SP3. For example, I have an account on build.opensuse.org and when I click on project/repositories there is a list of repos to choose from. How do I get that same behavior in my local appliance copy? Thx!

Issues with obs_scm and tar source services for glab and lots of questions...

Good morning/afternoon/evening/<insert local time here>, I wanted to do a drive-by-update of the glab package that I needed today. > https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:tools:scm/glab As usual, I branched the package, edited the version number in the_service file and ran "osc service disabledrun". Which failed. Looking at the _service file and comparing this to the package contents, I was puzzled. The package is using the obs_scm service, but does not contain a obscpio file. Instead it contains a tar.gz, that apparently was created by the "tar" service and recompressed by "recompress". Unfortunately the tar+recompress workflow does not work locally: > Error while moving from 'glab' to 'glab-1.26.0' > Current working directory: '/home/.../Branch_devel_tools_scm/glab' > Aborting: service call failed: /usr/lib/obs/service/tar --outdir /home/.../Branch_devel_tools_scm/glab/tmp3zu09mpt.tar.service And setting these services to "buildtime" brings up missing dependencies for the obs-scm-common package, PyYaml and dateutil: > unresolvable: nothing provides python-PyYAML needed by obs-service-obs_scm-common > nothing provides python-dateutil needed by obs-service-obs_scm-common Using the obscpio file works with the go-modules service, but I could not use it in the spec instead of the tarball. Of course I could replace obs_scm+tar+recompress by tar_scm, as the tarball is being stored anyway apparently. But as obs_scm is the new way, I would rather like to understand the issue. 1. Why does the _service of this package contain obs_scm, but the package does not? Manual intervention by the packager at commit time? 2. Is the error a known issue with the tar service? 3. Are the dependency issues known? 4. Can I completely skip tarball creation and only use the obscpio archive in the spec? Maybe anyone can chime in and shed some light. Building containerimages on OBS: How are builds triggered? How can I avoid load on OBS due to unnecessary rebuilds?

Hi all, to test Ansible roles with podman and molecule, I needed openSUSE container images that contain python as well as systemd. I managed to build them in my home: > https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:ojkastl_buildservice:openSUSE_… I want to avoid load on the OBS due to unnecessary rebuilds. Is there a way to influence whether rebuilds are triggered? Or do I simply change them do "build disabled" like with normal packages? Is there an explanation on the multiple metadata that is used by the images? I take it that many of the lines are only useful when using a release-oriented workflow (which the tumbleweed images are using IIUC). Thanks in advance! How to handle big repositories with tar_scm (where git start garbage collecting)?

Hi all, teleport has a huge git repository, at least during updates of the package using the tar_scm service git always starts garbage collecting things and the tarball creation takes a looooong time. ``` Auto packing the repository in background for optimum performance. See "git help gc" for manual housekeeping. ``` Deleting the clone directory does not help. Is there any way to finetune this part? Only get information on the main branch? Drop large parts of the git commit history? Something along these lines? Would switching to obs_scm service improve things in this regard? Thanks in advance and have a nice day! out of memory error with gcc

Hi, I need help with debugging memory problems. My aarch64 build repeatedly fails with Fedora 37: https://build.opensuse.org/public/build/home:behrisch/Fedora_37/aarch64/sum… with Out of memory: Killed process 13373 (cc1plus) total-vm:1819232kB, anon-rss:1195992kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:0kB, UID:399 pgtables:3484kB oom_score_adj:0 My constraints file already requests 4GB memory and even if I add up the numbers above I am below 3GB so there should still be some space available. open build service build error due to network issue
