Hi, since a couple of days we have a problem with our obs workers. The source server to use is part of the job data. So the question is why the scheduler has put localhost into the job data. If your BSConfig.pm looks like the template we have, it looks like: my $hostname = Net::Domain::hostfqdn() || 'localhost'; our $srcserver = "http://$hostname:5352"; Thus it seems like the DNS lookup did not work when the scheduler was started. Simply restarting the schedulers should fix this. So BSConfig.pm was like in the template. However I changed the line now to #my $hostname = Net::Domain::hostfqdn() || 'localhost'; my $hostname = 'obs.uib.local' restarted the obs server to make sure all services will get the new hostname restarted obsworker1 and I still get 2022-03-15 11:54:48: building 'opsiconfd' for project 'home:uibmz:opsi:4.2:development' repository 'RHEL_8' arch 'x86_64' fetching sources, getsources: connect to localhost:5352: Connection refused build failed, marked as bad build host... rpc failed: connect to localhost:5252: Connection refused Any suggestion where to look at? How to override Prefer?

Hi, It seems that the Prefer directive always prefer the first prefer but ignore later prefers? Since project conf is recursively inherited from repositories used, what is the preferred way to override the Prefer defined in repositories by a different one in my own project conf? Simply putting a Prefer line in my project conf doesn't work as inherited projconfs always appear before my projconf in the buildconfig. Thanks, Kai

Extending osc to use environmental variables

Greetings! I have a question regarding openSUSE build service command-line tool or osc. I was trying to create a release workflow for a package so I experimented with it in this repository https://github.com/uncomfyhalomacro/hellorust. Does osc support environmental variables? Because I want that I can use them as part of the `env` section on the config YAML file so that I can do the following ```sh OSC_USERNAME=yourusername OSC_PASSWORD=yourpassword osc co home:yourusername/projectname cd home:yourusername/projectname # do some bunch of stuff here OSC_USERNAME=yourusername OSC_PASSWORD=yourpassword osc vc -m "somemessage" projectname.changes projectname.spec OSC_USERNAME=yourusername OSC_PASSWORD=yourpassword osc commit # done committing new release to devel project for projectname ``` Or maybe extend the `osc token --operations` functionality that includes checkout, service, and commit? I have solved this issue. It needed to fully specify the path to the file at -f option like this: %files lang -f %_sourcedir/%name-%version/%{name}.lang

Timeout when trying to build locally

Hi all, is this a temporary failure of the build service or is it on my side? When trying to build a project locally I get: ``` osc build --local-package -j 4 openSUSE_Leap_15.3 x86_64 Building OpenBoard.spec for openSUSE_Leap_15.3/x86_64 Getting buildconfig from server and store to /windows/d/Martin/obs/home:letsfindaway:experimental/OpenBoard/.osc/_buildconfig-openSUSE_Leap_15.3-x86_64 Getting buildinfo from server and store to /windows/d/Martin/obs/home:letsfindaway:experimental/OpenBoard/.osc/_buildinfo-openSUSE_Leap_15.3-x86_64.xml Server returned an error: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request remote error: rpc timeout (http://back-home-opensuse:5252/build/home:letsfindaway:experimental/openSUS…) ``` Can I do anything about it or just wait and retry?

Use of kernel.obs.guest/initrd.obs.guest

Hi, I have an image build here: osc rbl Virtualization:Appliances:Images:Testing_x86:debian test-image-live-disk -M Disk images x86_64 It starts Qemu with [ 18s] /usr/bin/qemu-kvm ... -kernel /boot/kernel.obs.guest -initrd /boot/initrd.obs.guest I assume it does this because there is no kernel-obs-build or any other kernel (linux-generic) installed when building the test for debian I wanted to extend the testing matrix and add a test for luks (I plan to add support for luks2 in kiwi and wanted to have it really tested everywhere) When I do this the build ends with: [ 317s] [ DEBUG ]: 08:33:34 | EXEC: [cryptsetup --key-file /var/tmp/kiwi_9teoanif luksOpen /dev/mapper/loop0p2 luksRoot] [ 319s] [ 300.670200] device-mapper: table: 254:3: crypt: unknown target type Device mapper complains because the kernel or the initrd did not offer support for dm_crypt. Now the question is where does kernel.obs.guest and initrd.obs.guest come from ? CentOS 8 EOL and OBS

Hi, with CentOS 8 being EOL, and the binary repositories now gone: * will building packages for CentOS 8 keep working in the public OBS? * will building packages for CentOS 8 keep working in private instances for OBS? Right now, both are still working. I guess this is because of cached packages, that will expire at some point and then it starts failing? Or is the public OBS possibly building all of the CentOS packages and that gets used instead of the official repositories, and it will keep on working for some years? If that assumption is true, is that also where the private OBS instances download packages from? Thanks! Best, Oliver
