Hello, I need to build package for Ubuntu 18.04 using GCC 8 compiler instead of default GCC 7. What is the correct way to do it (so that it also doesn't apply to other Ubuntu versions or Debian)?

Setting up my obs server instance

Hi guys, i'm following this guide (https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Webclient_Development) to set my obs server making a checkout from github. When I run "bundle install" i get the following error : Traceback (most recent call last): 1: from <internal:gem_prelude>:1:in `<internal:gem_prelude>' <internal:gem_prelude>:1:in `require': cannot load such file -- rubygems.rb (LoadError) What am i wronging? Request for deletion of Request #882833 in OBS and the branch it is based on

Hi! Can somebody kindly remove that request and the branch it is based on? I have unsuccessfully tried eveything I can and also filed a ticket on https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/issues/10846 I would really like to submit some security updates for the package but I'm completely blocked! How to allow zero-length files in a package?

Hi: I manage a package called mhvtl. It is a tape robot simulation package. It can simulate a single tape drive in a tape robot, or several drives at once. It keeps a "library" (database?) of each type of tape drive and it's status in /var/lib/mhvtl/*. Each of the files starts out empty, i.e. zero length, zero bytes. The build service used to complain about this, giving 150 warnings (there are 150 empty files), but now it considers these all errors, failing the build. How can I tell the build service to stop complaining about these zero-length files, short of making the upstream project redesign its database to make our build service happy? Can I run more than one worker instance size on one worker machine?

Hi, Can I start different sizes of worker instances (i.e. different jobs# and memory size) on the same worker machine, or I have to run multiple worker machines and configure each of them with different OBS_WORKER_INSTANCES and OBS_INSTANCE_MEMORY? Thanks, Kai

Greetings. My project at <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/mozilla/seamonkey> is failing to build for openSUSE_Leap_15.3 on ppc64le; openSUSE Build Service is returning the following error message: > package build was not possible: > > no compliant workers (constraints mismatch hint: hardware:memory) > > Please adapt your constraints. I take it this means that none of the workers capable of building for ppc64le have enough memory to compile my project (which my _constraints file currents specifies to be 16 GB), and so I need to set a lower limit for ppc64le builds. But how do I know what this new limit should be? Is there a list of ppc64le workers that shows their available memory? Package fails on aarch64 with "nothing provides libc.so.6"

Since the last update (from 1.9.1 to 1.9.2), this[1] package doesn't build anymore.
