The kernel module is loaded, the package is installed, and virtualization is enabled in the BIOS. but the builds report "host does not support kvm". [opensuse-buildservice] What is the input of a kiwi file in OBS ?

I want to understand why mariadb package is not listed in ppc64le kiwwi file (1) So I would like to find what is the input of the process used to update this kiwi file. Where to find the input, and how to access the log of the process that updated the kiwi file ? After creating a new prj and creating the first pkg in it, osc commit hangs since hours: # obs r -v home:olh:xen-4.9 libguestfs openSUSE_Tumbleweed x86_64 blocked: service in progress There are no _serivce files at all in the chain from the new pkg to the actual source package. What is OBS doing here? [opensuse-buildservice] How to stop a linked packages parent from rebuilding when the parents spec file is unchanged.

I have package lilypond with two spec files, lilypond.spec and lilypond-doc.spec. Package lilypond-doc is a link of lilypond. I work on lilypond-doc.spec locally and check it in and lilypond then rebuilds and because lilypond-doc depends on lilypond to build a long, resource hungry and unnecessary rebuild takes place. The reason for splitting the package was to reduce resources used but this defeats the object. Is there something I can do or should I report a bug. I've another similar package ffado with linked ffado-mixer. This means when I change ffado-mixer a chain of dependencies via jack will also rebuild unnecessarily. Anything I can do? Hello everyone, Background: Lots of good projects are using OBS in order to provide packages. Example that is connected to this little story is Fish aka Fish shell. Problem: After new build some of developer in company I'm working for updated their Fish. Unfortunately some of devs used old python virtualenv it turned out that old virtualenv activate.fish is incompatible with new Fish version. I made workaround for devs, then start to tackle down the problem. The thing that hit me the most is that I'm unable to downgrade fish to previous version. It's one of most obvious step when there is problem with new package version. OBS Problem: It finally turned out that OBS is overwriting builds of Fish. My question is it's only behaviour that OBS is supporting? Is there any possibility of keeping more than one package version in same repository? As a rule of thumb - there should be at least 3 package version. My Problem: As long as using naked OBS -> download.opensuse.com there is chance, that in case of not working release I won't be able to simply get back to previous package/state. Workaround 1: Simple script will be able to download desired repositories and make redundant copy of packages. It's not convenient for me, because asking everyone in company if one is using something from OBS will be sluggish/boring and in future won't be doable. Workaround 2: Kindly asking you if it's possible :). I understand that keeping more packages require significantly more space and it might not be implemented in that way, so answer that it's currently impossible is also OK :). Since end of last week one pkg in external buildservice is in state unresolvable for Leap 42.1 and 42.2: unresolvable: conflict for provider of krb5 needed by samba-libs (provider krb5 is conflicted by installed krb5-mini) samba-libs links against krb5. pkgA links against samba-libs, this one builds fine. pkgB has pkgA in BuildRequires and it is now in state unresolvable. Its unclear why this happens now, samba links to krb5 since forever, and pkgA links to samba-libs also since a very long time. There is nothing obvious in prjconf and its history. Any idea what the reason could be? Olaf
