Hello, i hope this is the right list. When i want to download some files in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/monitoring/openSUSE_Leap_…, for example GeoIP-1.6.9-20.2.src.rpm. It thows an error: 404 Not Found If you think this is a mistake, see ftp.gwdg.de for contact information. So it is not downloadable. (From Reference 1) Case: Package A A requires A-compat A recommends A-x A-x provides A-compat A-y provides A-compat Package B B buildrequires A Result of building B "unresolvable" because "have choice for A-compat needed by A: A-x A-y Expected Result: Building B incurs installing A-x and A unless it explicitly BuildRuquires on A-y We are already experiencing this issue at build.tizen.org and I do not want to force release engineers to put "Prefer" for every case in the OBS project config. So I'd rather update perl-BSSolv and obs-build. (Reference 2) Those troubling packages (A-x, A-y, ...) are usually binaries behaving differently with the common interfaces. (e.g., one for optimized-size, another for optimized-energy, ...) Users may choose one of them at install-time (or at binary-image configuration). Could you please tell me how can I make the commits resolving the mentioned issue more probable to contribute? or give me some comments on them? [opensuse-buildservice] myspell-korean missing

Hello everyone, I'm doing some localization work for an open-source project and therefore wanted to install the myspell-korean spell check dictionary, which is not available for openSUSE 42.2. It's available for 13.x (http://rpm.pbone.net/ index.php3/stat/4/idpl/29260793/dir/opensuse_13.x/com/myspell- korean-0.4.3-32.3.1.noarch.rpm.html), but this package can't be installed on 42.2 due to dependency conflicts. I solved this by downloading the Debian package from https:// packages.debian.org/en/sid/hunspell-ko and then put the files into the according directories (except /var/lib/dictionaries-common/hunspell/hunspell- ko, this directory doesn't exist on openSUSE). After having done so I was able to use the Korean dictionary with LibreOffice. Is there anyone who would like to build a myspell-korean package which could then be added to the 42.2 repo? Otherwise I wouldn't mind doing that by myself, since I'd like to contribute to the openSUSE project and I'd appreciate having the chance to get more familiar with the building process. [opensuse-buildservice] Non-SUSE repositories disappeared from mirrors?

As of yesterday, it looks like the rsync module on rsync.opensuse.org dropped the non-SUSE repositories like Red Hat or CentOS and they've disappeared from mirrors. Is that a deliberate change, and/or a permanent one? [opensuse-buildservice] introducing new macros across the whole OBS?

Hello, in relation to the python single-spec initiative, I have designed a set of new macros that allow significant automation in building Python packages. However, these are constrained by the %python_module macro used in BuildRequires. The purpose of this macro is to expand %{python_module foo} to python2-foo, python3-foo, etc., based on which python flavors are build targets for the package. Obviously, the buildservice itself must be able to do this expansion, otherwise it can't resolve the build requirements. So far I have solved this by placing all the macros in prjconf. But this is not viable if I want my macros to be available everywhere. I can create a "python-macros" package for all the other macros, and buildrequire it, in order to make the packages build in any distro that has this package, but I can't do the same for %python_module. Is it possible to make the buildservice itself recognize this macro, or place it in some sort of global prjconf? Ideally without triggering a full rebuild of everything? Or do you have any tips for alternate solutions? One thing that occured to me, instead of relying on macros, turn "python-foo" packages into metapackages requiring the respective "python2-foo", "python3-foo" etc., and then BuildRequire the metapackage. I don't have a clear idea about how well this would work, it seems rather problematic. I don't want to make packagers list the buildrequires by hand, because the requirements can be numerous and we also want to be able to add more python flavors and expand the build requirements accordingly. thanks for any tips m.
