Hi! tl;td: Join at http://lists.rpm.org/mailman/listinfo/rpm-ecosystem if your interested in any part of the rpm ecosystem. While there are quite some mailing lists already that deal with the different tools around and including rpm we realized that there is no good place to discuss issues that involve multiple parts of (our own) package handling stack even less so to stay in contact with other rpm based solutions. To solve this we create a new mailing list: rpm-ecosystem(a)lists.rpm.org Normal user questions and development talk is supposed to stay on the per project mailing lists. The new list is for questions like: * How do other implementations handle specific problems? * Is this new feature interesting for downstream distributions? * How do the different packaging guidelines treat a special topic? * Anyone there to support our demand for this new rpm feature? And it is for topics like: * Packaging guide lines * RPM features * Build systems and compose tools * Dependency solvers, installers and updaters * RPM based image creation / non rpm based updates for rpm based distributions In short: It is meant to bind the rpm universe together. [opensuse-buildservice] network/bind SLE 12 unresolvable; prjconf adjustment required?

Hi, network/bind no longer builds due to being in a unresolvable state for the SLE 12 target. The displayed message is: have choise for sysvinit(syslog): rsyslog syslog-ng I've for now set in the prjconf %if 0%{?suse_version} == 1315 Prefer: rsyslog %endif But I believe we should have this set OBS-wide. [opensuse-buildservice] armv6l, broken process names in /proc/PID

Hi, On armv6l and aarch64 I've noticed that we have strange process names in /proc/PID/*. It's always "qemu-arm" or "qemu-arm64". Hi, I still can not understand the following. I use tar_scm service like the <service name="tar_scm" mode="disabled"> <param name="scm">git</param> <param name="url">URL</param> <param name="versionformat">@PARENT_TAG@</param> <param name="revision">v1.2.3</param> <param name="changesgenerate">enable</param> </service> And I would like to use set_version. [opensuse-buildservice] Getting maintainer list

Has someone diddled with OBS or did I end up in a parallel universe? Because I;m fairly certain a few days ago I could get the list of maintainers of a project with osc maintainer -v <project> and the help output suggests I'm right. However I'm only getting some rubbish about empty result, roles, and -r. What's wrong? [opensuse-buildservice] HOWTO build Vagrant boxes with OBS

Hello, My understanding is that OBS can build Vagrant boxes directly, but I have not found the relevant documentation. I have built OpenSUSE 13.2, Tumbleweed and SLE12 Vagrant boxes for libvirt using Kiwi for myself. I wish to share these the "right way". I am using these boxes for Ceph development. Thanks, Eric

Hi, I wanted to push cairo-dock from my home project (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:etamPL/cairo-dock) to Factory. But to which development project should I push it? I'm thinking about X11:Utilities. If you agree or have better alternative, please respond. -- Adam Mizerski
