Hello All, I'm running a private instance and I'd like to enable networking on my workers so they can build some java apps, via maven, which need to download pom's/war's from the net. [opensuse-buildservice] Ghost package

Hi. There is a ghost package in my OBS home project. I'm using the web interface, not the command line one. If you go to https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:jcsl:LXDE you can see the real 10 packages in the Packages box on left side, but if you look in the Build Results box, on the right side, you see 11 next to the "succeeded" text. If you then click the succeeded link you find the pcmanfm-1.2.0-beta1 package, and if you click on its link you get a Package "pcmanfm-1.2.0-beta1" not found in project "home:jcsl:LXDE", as expected. It even appears in the scheduled and building states when something I'm building triggers its build (I don't know how can this be). Any hints? Hi, Is it possible to use kiwi build products as build-requirements for rpm builds? I would like to do the following: get rootfs tar.gz of some kiwi build, repack it into /var/lib/container/myservice and utilize systemd-nspawn. Hi! When writing a script a stumbled upon the --format option of the osc results command. It looked promising, but I could not find any documentation for the syntax of the format string. So I used the great osc --debugger option and came up with the following explanation: The --format option takes a format specification string similar to printf. However, the conversion specifiers take form %(field)s where field can be one of arch code details dirty pac package pkg prj project rep repo repository repostate state If have not tested all of them but this example worked like desired: --format '%(package)s|%(code)s|%(details)s' Not sure what is the difference between package, pkg, and pac (and others, which seem to be synomyms). For the usage as keywords in this option I could understand that they are just synonyms. But I copied them from real runtime data (Python dictionary). And I don't get why one would store synonym keys with the same value each in a Python dictionary. This is just for general information. As far as I can find, RPMs are always built using the C locale, which is non-unicode. This breaks a lot of python packages, which use the locale of the environment, and thus fail when it gets, for example, utf-8 in a readme file (which is extremely common). [opensuse-buildservice] Project linking of type linkedbuild="localdep"

Hi! I tried to use a linked project of type linkedbuild="localdep", and I expect some packages from the base project to become visible in the linked project and be built there, but nothing happens. Only packages existing locally in the linked project are visible. So here is the whole story: In a private OBS instance I have a couple of bigger projects with deep dependencies. One of the "patterns" I saw, is that a package has 2 alternative implementations. To just limit the explanation to a small core, let's say package "a" depends on package "b" (actually it depends on pkgconfig(some-stuff-provided-by-b), but I think that should not make a difference. Now "b" exists in 2 alternative implementations, which cannot co-exist in the same installation. So my idea was: 1. Make a "base project", which contains everything except any implementation of "b". Quite many packages are built inside the "base project" but of course "a" is not because "b" is missing. (In reality I have many "a"s in different depths of dependencies, but again I guess this should not change the basic concepts) 2. Make a linked project of type linkedbuild="localdep" (http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Concept_project_linking) , which contains one implementation of "b" The project meta is like this: <project name="linked"> <title>Linked project</title> <description></description> <link project="base"/> <person userid="uwe.geuder" role="maintainer"/> <person userid="uwe.geuder" role="bugowner"/> <repository linkedbuild="localdep" name="foo"> <path project="base" repository="foo"/> <arch>armv8el</arch> </repository> </project> Now "b" is built successfully and thereafter I would expect OBS to automatically build "a" in the linked project. But simply nothing happens. What am I missing here? Admittedly the "documentation" at http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Concept_project_linking talks about rebuilding if a dependency changes. In my case that would be a bit stretched, because I expect the *first* build to happen when the dependency becomes available. Is it really so strict that the latter case is not supported at all? Obviously, after 2. I wanted to do 3., but as long 2. doesn't work it makes little sense 3. Make another linked project of type linkedbuild="localdep", which contains another implementation of "b" The whole idea is to have OBS to determine the minimal set of packages needing rebuild and have a "natural set" of packages in my "base" project. I guess the problem can be solved in 2 ways: I. Split the "base" project into a lower layer not depending on "b" and a higher level depending on "b". Then the higher layer could have 2 repos, each depending on a different project providing an implementation of "b" II. use linkedbuild="all" Because the project contains quite some packages I have not yet played with these alternatives, rebuilding will take time. [opensuse-buildservice] Support for external repositories (e.g. EPEL)

I successfully built my software on OBS for Fedora, OpenSuse and SLE. Now I would like to build it for centos/rhel as well, but there are several build dependencies which are not available in the standard centos/rhel repositories; they are only available through EPEL. Is there a way to enable external repositories during build, in order to get some external BuildRequires? EPEL [1] is a repository sponsored by Redhat and consists of Fedora packages that did not make it into rhel (yet). A few years ago, someone asked the same question [2] on this mailing list, but I am not sure it ever got resolved. Adrian, It is not an issue anymore. I am working on something else now. I do have an issue with that though. I am trying to build perl-ExtUtils-MakeMaker on centos 6 and am getting this error. "nothing provides perl(ExtUtils::Installed) needed by perl-devel". As a result, the build is unresolvable. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Guys, I am trying to build dirty-resolver 1.0 and I am getting this error message: "nothing provides libxml2.so.2(LIBXML2_2.6.0)(64bit) needed by bind-libs". The project under which dirty-resolver has centos5/6, rhel5/6. But only centos 6 is having this issue with every package. Please tell me what I could do to fix this issue. Whether it's adding a repo or something? I'm in the process of upgrading our now ancient 2.3 version of OBS to 2.5. I successfully upgraded it to OpenSUSE 12.2, and OBS 2.4. ArchLinux has renamed lzo2 to lzo ([0]), and it seems that the code which synces the "core" and "extra" repos to the OBS failed to remove lzo2 when it disappeared from upstream, or maybe upstream is out of whack and didn't remove the package fully. this is quite major since lzo/lzo2 is required for libarchive which provides the default tar(1) on ArchLinux. [opensuse-buildservice] Different spec files for different repositories

I would like to build and publish my software for both Fedora and OpenSuse using OBS. However, the two spec files are slightly different, because apache2 is called httpd in Fedora, and uses somewhat different config structure. Is it possible to use different spec files for different repositories within a OBS (sub)project/package? Hello again! Been away for a while. We moved to a new facility and changed much of our network around, and as a result rebuilt our obs private installation anew and fresh from the 2.5.4-Build1.4 appliances. I now have an issue with builds not completing. We have eight workers happily busy building packages but getting nowhere with them. Contents of Build Log: connect to obsmaster:5352: No route to host It should be trying to connect to obsmaster-int here, not obsmaster. Some network details: Our OBS server is using two NICs to access two subnets: one is called obsmaster on the .4 subnet and the other is obsmaster-int on the .1 subnet. We are reserving the .1 for servers and using .4 for the "public" interface. OBS Server:/usr/lib/obs/BSConfig.pm: reposerver = obsmaster:5252 srcserver = obsmaster:5352 workerreposerver = obsmaster-int:5252 workersrcserver = obsmaster-int:5352 OBS Worker:/etc/sysconfig/obs-server: OBS_REPO_SERVER = obsmaster-int:5252 OBS_SRC_SERVER = obsmaster-int:5352 The workers talk to obsmaster-int okay, but somewhere along the line presumably the server is telling them to talk over the public subnet, to which they have no route. Hello, i'm using DISCONTINUED:Debian:4.0 & DISCONTINUED:Ubuntu:8.04 per remoteurl on my local buildservice instance (please don't ask why) and get this errer when building: Can't locate Config_heavy.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl/5.8/Config.pm line 65. Complete example build log is below. Builds are working with newer versions of Debian/Ubuntu but not with these versions. As i found out, Config_heavy.pl is included in main "perl" package which gets not preinstalled in prjconf for DISCONTINUED:Debian:4.0 & DISCONTINUED:Ubuntu:8.04 I'm not sure if this is the real problem or not, but if i'm correct can this be added to prjconf please? Or is there a working way, that i can overwrite the prjconf on my local instance globally for these remote included repositories ? [opensuse-buildservice] openSUSE Packages & post-build checks

I have a few packages which will attempt to start themselves in a post-install script. However, they require network access and syslog (/dev/log) to be available. At the moment, I'm unable to figure out how to allow this to pass checks in OBS. How do others deal with this on the public OBS? -Matt

Early in the vm setup, mkswap gets an aerror trying to load a library that doesn't exist. This happens on all my build targets from 11.1_Update and older. They all worked fine not too long ago, though I can't say when exactly they broke. Is there in fact some way I could address this with some project or build target setting? Hi All, I've got openSUSE Factory packages for Calamari (the web GUI for managing Ceph clusters -- http://ceph.com/?p=5862) into reasonable shape in home:tserong:calamari on OBS. I'd like to be able to move these somewhere more "official" than my home project though. The Calamari-specific packages I have are: calamari-clients (JS frontent) calamari-server (Django backend) diamond (ceph's fork of diamond) graphite-web (ceph's fork of graphite web) Other packages in home:tserong:calamari, which I should probably submit to devel:languages:python: python-carbon python-psycogreen python-whisper python-zerorpc The remaining three packages I have in home:tserong:calamari (python-django-tagging, python-djangorestframework, salt) are just links to already existing devel:languages:python packages. ISTM that a subproject like systemsmanagement:calamari would be a reasonable place for Calamari. If that sounds OK, can someone with the appropriate superpowers please create that subproject for me? Or is there somewhere more suitable for this sort of thing? [opensuse-buildservice] Bootstraping a Deb based distro?

Hi, I'm running a private instance of OBS version 2.5 - We need to import raspbian (a Rasberry PI distro) into our local instance so we can start building a few of our projects against it. I've checked out the Wiki, and it pretty much only covers RPM based distro's with no mention of how to support deb based distro's. I did find a old post from 2008 that gave some instructions here: http://opensuse.14.x6.nabble.com/Which-directory-structure-under-srv-obs-bu… Question: 1) is that instruction still valid? 2) it was mentioned that multiple versions of a package might cause issues. Is that still the case? 3) can Download on Demand be used for deb based distro's? If it can, what would the metafile and mtype for the <download> element? gather it would be the Packages (or Packages.gz/xz?) and mtype as deb? and the download URL points to where in the repository? The pool directory or ? I've seen Michael and Adrian mention a few times they are running scripts to do the mirroring? any chance they can be shared for deb based distro's? Hi Yeah, that was my problem from the start.. If I do a stack trace I can see the that /root/.phrases/obsrun@localhost is open, and even that the password is extracted correctly... I'm wondering if bs_signer is passing the wrong arguments to either gpg og sign?? Hmm, so did you do an OBS update or something similar? The private keys of all OBS projects are encrypted with the OBS master key ("obsrun@localhost"), so if you change that master key the project keys will no longer work. Hi All After setting up a new local instance of the 2.5 OBS, I'm having problems with signing.. Hi, Since some time I'm experiencing build errors like: [ 910s] ../../3rdParty/lua/src/liblua.a(liolib.o): In function `g_read': [ 910s] liolib.c:(.text+0x629): undefined reference to `__isoc99_fscanf' [ 1109s] ./testit: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by ./testit) [ 899s] Source/LibJPEG/jcapimin.o: could not read symbols: File in wrong format I think those originate from C library and architecture mismatches on some builders. According to wiki page [1] scm snapshots must use '+' or '.' as version delimiter. Hello Is it possible to get a {compressed} list of all packages on the opensuse build service ? Can all the packages across openSUSE Build Service be listed. I know this is a long..long list [34,552 project entries] [ 249,332... packages] and it would change over time as packages are added/removed. - Can gzip 9 or similar be use to compress the list. - Where would the {compressed} listing be located ? - Does the build service already produce a list with this content ?
