[opensuse-buildservice] /etc/init.d/obsworker does not start after reboot when running behind a proxy

It seems the curl command in obsworker ignores the no-proxy settings and tries to download the worker code from our proxy. OTOH, if I log in as root and issue a 'rcobsworker start', it does _not_ fail. Of course, when you log in, the proxy environment variables are set, but if obsworker is run as a child of the init process, none of theses env vars are set. In the obsworker code, I see that it sources /etc/sysconfig/proxy, but this sets shell variables, not env variables. Hi, I am trying to get OBS on a private server but I face some issues. Hello folks, So, here is my GSoC 2013 update for the week ending on 12/07/2013 1. What have I done last week? Fixed the minor bugs and styling mistakes. Made the code in [webui] more DRY. Also, previous test suites were failing which didnt allow me from making my first pull-request, so a lot of time was spent fixing the existing test suite and make sure all of them are passing now. Routing was also updated and lot of restructuring was done too. Users now have the ability to expand and collapse the comments. 2. What am I'm doing this week This week, I am out travelling for oSC (Yayy!), so I don't expect a lot of work to be done. But I still plan on writing some test suites and permission checks as much as possible. Plus, my mentor (henne) will be at oSC so we will be discussing the app in much more detail during the conference and work piece-by-piece on the feedback received for the existing pull-request. Hi, can some repo maintainers accept them? They're there for more than two weeks. I'm running a xmpp server using prosody...maybe I'm the only one using these packages for now? And I'm pretty sure the fixes are valid. Reasons: Most of the Lua dependencies there don't support Lua 5.2 at the upstream side. So it doesn't make sense to build them with lua 5.2. [opensuse-buildservice] package maintenance...am i doing this correctly?

Hello All, I'm trying to update the sudo package in opensuse12.3 from the package in Base:System and I've been asked to create an mbranch, merge and commit the changes, then create a new maintenancerequest. I've been reviewing the package maintenance page, http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Package_maintenance, and I just want to ensure i'm doing things properly before i commit things. I've created a branch of openSUSE:12.3:Update/sudo and checked out Base:System/sudo and "merged" them by manually coping the updated/new sources from Base:System/sudo into the branch, adding them, removing the old sources. I know I need to sync up the .changes but I don't want to simply overwrite the branches because there is 1 change added to the update that isn't in the Base:System package. I'm I going about this correctly or is there a better way to "merge" the changes? Should I be concerned about keeping the .changes entry or just clobber it, and include the bug number in the new .changes? [opensuse-buildservice] OBS books moved to github.com

We migrate the source of the official OBS books to github as well now. This was done basically for two resons: * People were too frightend to ask for a svn.opensuse.org account and just want to push something. * I want to keep a review process to avoid that these pages become just an unreviewed kiwi copy. So we need something like pull requests. The new pages are online on openbuildservice.org now. (Update was broken since quite some time). If you want to improve it, please just go to https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service-documentation and do the classic github way via forking, committing and pull request. Btw, I do still want to remind you that it is okay to have specific content in the books for specific instances. These can be tagged and we generate them only for some exports of the docuementation. Eg. Open Build Service(OBS) 2.4.4 just got released =============================================== Another bugfix release of the 2.4 series is out there. This release fixes a serious security leak tracked as CVE-2013-3703 and Novell bugzilla 828256: Users can add or remove other users to projects or packages even when they have no maintainership there. All OBS 2.4 admins a requested to updated immediatly to close this hole. Instances with OBS 2.3 and before are not affected. While OBS 2.4.4 only contains the bugfix for this situation, we introduced a better design in master branch to avoid these kinds of bugs in future. [opensuse-buildservice] problem with package always in 'unresolvable'

I'm running an instance of OBS 2.3 I have a package that always says 'unresolvable', and when I use osc to ask for buildinfo, it lists a half-dozen packages like this: <error>unresolvable: have choice for PACKAGE_FOO needed by PACKAGE_BAR: PACKAGE_DEP1 PACKAGE_DEP2, have choice for .... Now, the problem is that PACKAGE_FOO says it built successfully, and I'm using in a parent project's buildconf: Substitute: PACKAGE_DEP2 PACKAGE_DEP1 because I *always* want to use PACKAGE_DEP2. I don't understand what's going on here. Hello, i have the next problem. repo A: has an rpm package X, that Requires Y \ (A is a repository for B) |- repo B: has a kiwi package that needs package X Y doesn't exist and project config has Substitute to other package Z. I'm using the OBS packages with version 2.4.4-4.1 (obs-api, obs-server, etc.) I have createrepo-0.9.9-4.1.1 installed. It seems that my OBS instance has started having problems running createrepo: yum/zypper repodata is no longer being generated correctly They no longer have the full list of the RPM packages that are published. I can look inside the repodata/primary.xml.gz, and many packages that are configured to be published are not in the repo data. The packages themselves are placed into the download location - there's just no repodata that catalogs the package's existence to yum/zypper. I've checked and re-checked that both the project and package publishing is enabled. The problem doesn't appear to be related to any particular distribution; it happens across the board, on RHEL, SLES, openSUSE, and Fedora. /srv/obs/log/publisher.log has entries like the following: running createrepo Worker 0: Traceback (most recent call last): Worker 0: File "/usr/share/createrepo/worker.py", line 99, in <module> syncing database (11 ops) waiting for an event... I'm not sure if that is actually a problem, as in looking at bs_publish, it seems clear that if there's a failure, a message will be printed "createrepo failed re-running without extra options", and the repo will be regenerated again. I'm not seeing the error message. As a minor diagnostic, I pivoted the repodata directory out of place, and ran: createrepo . That completed without problems, and the generated repo appears to have the data needed. However, as OBS isn't generating the repodata properly, it's still a problem. Does anyone have an ideas what I can do to find out what is happening, and where the error is? Hi, I'm trying to understood architecture of OBS. I find that /etc/init.d/obsworker starts /usr/lib/obs/server/bs_worker and that worker can be configure to build in kvm sandbox. But I got lost in bs_worker code. Can someone please enlighten me (or just point to specific parts of code) how is sources passed to that kvm sandbox and how is retrieved the result from the virtual machine? [opensuse-buildservice] How update /srv/obs/repos?

Hi, On my local OBS instance, it seems that /srv/obs/repos/* folders are not very well updated (repodata contains references to only one package whereas there are more than 25 in arch folder. Trigger a rebuild of packages does not help. Any idea why? I enabled signing in my OBS after this repo was started to be used. May it be related?
