Hi, The last kmid release (2.3.0) fails building openSUSE packages in OBS. Hi, the openSUSE booster teams has started to improve the http://software.opensuse.org/search interface. One important thing is to improve the search results. It is important from our POV that the project owner can classify the purpose of his project. This is currently suggested in this fate request : https://features.opensuse.org/306232 as STABLE -- project is considered to be ready to use for End-Users TESTING -- project should work from point of developer view, but needs verification DEVELOPMENT -- project is random state, it might work. BROKEN -- project is known to be not working atm. The default value would be "DEVELOPMENT", which is also used when someone creates a new branch of a package by default. by default the software search would just show "STABLE" projects in their results. If no result can be found, the search will offer to search also for the unstable versions. Project owners can set this state in their project at any time. I would like to hear some feedback about the suggested states. Hello, Why is the 'universe' repository for Ubuntu not available in OBS? It seems that at the beginning you (OBS developers/maintainers/sysadmins) thought 'universe' was a moving target but Vincent Untz quickly corrected that misunderstanding. http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.suse.opensuse.buildservice/7749/focus=7… Many essential packages are in universe, which makes very difficult to build Ubuntu packages in OBS. Examples of widely used libraries which are only available in Universe: Boost, Apache Portable Runtime (APR), FastCGI, libpng until Ubuntu 9.04, Rails, etc Having to build every 'universe' package I need is a nightmare. Dear sir, I installed a OBD in whole new openSuse 11.2 OS. And read http://gitorious.org/opensuse/build-service/blobs/raw/master/dist/README.SE… for configuration and followed below steps. 1. sudo zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools/openSUSE_11.2/ openSUSE_Tools_Devel 2. sudo zypper install obs-worker obs-api mysql obs-server osc 3. Start MySQL and set password by: sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start 4. sudo mysql_secure_installation 5. Create the empty production databases: # mysql -u root -p mysql> create database api_production; mysql> quit 6. sudo cp /srv/www/obs/api/config/database.yml.example /srv/www/obs/api/config/database.yml 7. Write MySQL password to database.yml by: sudo vi /srv/www/obs/api/config/database.yml 8. populate the database # cd /srv/www/obs/api/ # sudo RAILS_ENV="production" rake db:migrate # cd /srv/www/obs/webui/ # sudo RAILS_ENV="production" rake db:migrate 9. To enable these vhosts, make sure to uncomment the following in the 'custom includes' section at the bottom of /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf: ## ## custom includes like vhosts. ## #include "conf.d/config.conf" # following line uncommented as per # /usr/share/doc/packages/obs-api/README.SETUP include_shell "cat vhosts.d/*.conf" Also, the modules "mod_magnet", "mod_rewrite" and fastcgi need to be enabled by uncommenting the corresponding lines in /etc/lighttpd/modules.conf: server.modules = ( "mod_access", # "mod_alias", # "mod_auth", # "mod_evasive", # "mod_redirect", "mod_rewrite", # "mod_setenv", # "mod_usertrack", ) ## ## mod_magnet ## include "conf.d/magnet.conf" ## ## FastCGI (mod_fastcgi) ## include "conf.d/fastcgi.conf" 10. But...when I use http://127.0.42.1, everything goes wrong. [opensuse-buildservice] rake error on Fedora 11 and 12 on x86_64

I have a autoconf script that runs rake --version to test the rake version against a minimum version however I get the following error in the build log when just trying to run this simple test /usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/rubygems.rb:578:in `report_activate_error': Could not find RubyGem rake (>= 0) (Gem::LoadError) i586 is fine. Could the the idle build que's be used (when available), to find and process packages in the 'Blocked by other packages' que and build them ?. Perhaps it could shorten the waiting timefor packages that are blocked. [opensuse-buildservice] Strange build failure bug

Hi, I've had random build failures that when opening the build log I see things like :- *Status:* Build finished |connect to buildservice:5352: Connection timed out | I've usually been to busy working on the package but can leave this one for inspection in home:plater:branches:multimedia:libs dssi. Basically osc should rather rebuild immediately instead of sitting as a failed build and giving the impression that something is wrong with the package.
