[opensuse-buildservice] shlib-policy-name-error

Some of my mono-based packages contain helper libraries or bindings. They get a shlib-policy-name-error, which is a fatal error. The error states: Your package contains a single shared library but is not named after its SONAME. It would be ridiculous to rename my package libMonoFuseHelper0, for instance as this is just a helper .so and not in any way the main contents of this package. It would be equally ridiculous to separate the helper library to a sub-package as no other package would ever need it by itself. Does the rpmlint test need to be modified to recognize the mono assemblies in the package? Where can I read the text of the shlib-policy? Would patching the package to put it's helper library in a private directory cause the test to pass? This would probably cause me some trouble as they would require .config files to instruct the runtime where to find the .so. [opensuse-buildservice] How to get the whole distros list from the build-service server?

[opensuse-buildservice] How to easily create OBS package from specfile

Hi list, I have some prepared packages (i.e. specfile & tarball) that build OK locally. Now I'd like to add them to an OBS project. When I use osc meta pkg -e project-name package-name, I'm asked to fill in the package title and description. Couldn't this step be avoided as the description and title are already available in the package specfile? Or am I simply supposed to copy & paste it? (BTW what takes precedence - specfile metadata of 'obs metadata') ? [opensuse-buildservice] Build error allthough just linked, link target build succeeded

Hello, I suddenly have problems building bacula. My package links to another user's package (bastianfriedrich) just patching the spec file a little bit, using mysql instead of splite3. The build fails even if I temporarily remove my spec file patch completey. The same package builds (did build?) properly at the links destination. Comparing the two build logs doesn't really show any differences in the rpmbuild itself when the patch is disabled, and just the splite3 vs. mysql diffs when it is enabled. There are of course some differences esp. the lint and permissions part at the end and the setup of the VM. Hi All ! There are lots of packages in the build-service, but I still consider those as "third-party", because they aren't part of openSUSE Factory tree, therefore they won't become part of openSUSE 11.1 release. I would like to take the job of integrating *stable* packages from the community's Build Service home projects, and taking them to Factory. Unstable packages will remain as-is (third-party). Hi, When accepting requests, the log entry always shows <no message>. Where do the messages supplied with the accept command using -m <message> go? Is there a way to get log message into target package when accepting?
