[opensuse-buildservice] osc init problem.

Hello, I had a hard drive crash, so I wanted to start my osc projects fresh on a new drive. I think there may be a bug in osc. I tried the following. gerberb@suse103:~/work/BS/opensuse> osc init home:gerberb osc init: takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given) Try 'osc help init' for info. gerberb@suse103:~/work/BS/opensuse> osc init home:gerberb * osc init: takes exactly 2 arguments (6 given) Try 'osc help init' for info. The above has two arguments. If I cd to each directory and then do a ls in each directory and output to a file and then file in a for loop on each they init. But shouldn't I be able to do an init right after a check out? [opensuse-buildservice] build a package locally using "build" and bs-packagecache

Hi, I've tried to build a package on my local system using "build" and reusing the bs-packagecache as RPM repository. That fails most probably because these ugly directory names containing ':'. build --root=/var/tmp/build-root cairo.spec --norootforbuild --rpms /local/build/bs-packagecache/openSUSE\:10.3/standard/x86_64 fails to find the RPMs there. I guess I tried every type of quoting for the colon but everything failed. To see if it's really the colon I've created a symlink w/o a colon to that directory and there it works. Worth a bugreport against build? [opensuse-buildservice] [patch] osc prjresults csv output

Hi, this patch adds option --csv to 'osc prjresults' to output a CSV table: osc prjresults --csv | awk -F, ... osc prjresults --csv >results.csv ooffice results.csv & ;-) It also cleans up the function that displays the results. Michal

[opensuse-buildservice] openSUSE:Factory (i586) is broken atm

Hi, OBS packagers might notice seg faults when the build enviroment gets setup since 1 or 2 days. I first thought these are broken build hosts, but a second look tells me that this seems to be a problem within the distribution. This bug is only visible for i586 in the OBS (since only i586 build does reuse its packages), but the bug itself may also exist for the other architectures. So I would not update to Factory currently, if you like to mount your filesystems ;) Unfortunatly, I can not debug or workaround this from here (secret place where I stay atm ;). So this will not be fixed before tomorrow ... OBS packagers, please ignore the problem for now, we will most likely need to trigger anyway a complete rebuild when fixing this problem. The problem is that the mount command itself is segfaulting when trying to enable the write mode in the FS. Since this fails, no build can work. [opensuse-buildservice] One common community repository in BuildService?

Hi all, some of other distributions has some kind of a community repository. The Ubuntu guys has universe/multiverse repos, there are Arch User repository for Arch Linux, the Gentoo has Sunrise Overlay, etc. The OpenSUSE has a BuildService, which is an excellent building system for maintenance of the community repository. But the OpenSUSE also has a several hunderds of specialized repos and that is too much complicated for many users. Why are there 10 games: repositories? Or a small one like devel:languages:smalltalk with 2 packages only? I think, that using of several different repos should consists the package conflicts on client's side. And some peoples hates this system, because is too much complex. Are there any technical problems to create a one (or a few) common community repository in BuildService? Do you think, that the existing state is good, or it'll be fine to have a one big community repositry? BTW: Yes, there is also a Packman repository, but guys from Packman team has only one machine (afaik) and the BS has a big farm of building machines. The BS community repo should be much bigger, than Packman one.
