Hi
Are there any lists for package names for non-openSUSE distributions
available? Guessing them for BuildRequires is rather
time-consuming. :-( I'm especially interested into X.Org 7 package
names for
- Debian Etch
- Fedora 6 with Extras
- Mandriva 2007
- Mandriva 2006
- xUbuntu 7.04
- xUbuntu 6.06
Can I use specfiles for Debian/Ubuntu at all? Is there some magic
implemented in the buildservice to convert it to the Debian control
file before building? Any HOWTOs available for building Debian/Ubuntu
packages with the buildservice?
Best regards,
Stefan

Hi,
Last week i made some oracle-instanclient packages to build tora and
perl-DBD-Oracle, and where deleted because of legal issues.
According to the license agreement it can be redistributed with other
apps, BUT, this paragraphs seem to avoid having it on a linux distro
as you can't control where it's going to be used:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Export Controls on the Programs
Selecting the "Accept License Agreement" button is a confirmation of
your agreement that you comply, now and during the trial term, with
each of the following statements:
-You are not a citizen, national, or resident of, and are not under
control of, the government of Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Libya, North Korea,
Syria, nor any country to which the United States has prohibited
export.
-You will not download or otherwise export or re-export the Programs,
directly or indirectly, to the above mentioned countries nor to
citizens, nationals or residents of those countries.
-You are not listed on the United States Department of Treasury lists
of Specially Designated Nationals, Specially Designated Terrorists,
and Specially Designated Narcotic Traffickers, nor are you listed on
the United States Department of Commerce Table of Denial Orders.
You will not download or otherwise export or re-export the Programs,
directly or indirectly, to persons on the above mentioned lists.
----------------------- snip -----------------------------
Is there any legal workaround?, anyone interested in this app?, it
would be really great to have oracle-instantclient out of the box on a
linux workstation.
Please see "OTN Development and Distribution License Agreement for
Instant Client" at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/lin…

Ciro

Hi,
I installed wxMaxima 0.7.2-2.26 on 10.3 beta2 from Education:Desktop
project and it keeps crashing everytime I click on a menu entry with
maxima commands. Otherwise it works fine. Anyone had similar problems?

Hi,
I'm trying to build a package for Ubuntu 7.04 but I get the following error:

The package downloaded is actually a deb. What should I do?

Hi,
we're currently thinking about how we improve the build service
to allow more cooperation: People should be able to change projects
that are not maintained by them and propose these changes to the
maintainers of the project.
Please read a DRAFT concept for this what we call branching of
sources under http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Concepts
I am looking forward to reading your feedback,
thanks,
Klaas

Hello,
> osc build openSUSE_10.2 i586 grass.spec
Getting buildinfo from server
buildinfo is borken... it says:
expansion error: nothing provides fdupes
--> This should be broken, not borken.

Hello,
following toplevel projects seem to be of no use anymore:
empty:
littler, Marco, mercurial, libopensync-plugin-synce, linuxworld, muine
of no use:
LabPlot - is in Education:desktop and the packagers home directories. The
toplevel variant is not updated
And when these 7 are deleted, there is free space again. What about my
Application:Geo? :-)

Hello!
Currently there is no way to link to a package built on the build service
because if we do so this link will break on every rebuild since the release
number will change.
Because of that I recommmend to automatically create symbolic links without
the version number as we have in the update directories on ftp.suse.com. For
example:
zypper.rpm -> zypper-0.6.15-0.1.i586.rpm
If we do so we can just link to
http://software.opensuse.com/download/.../packagename.rpm. This link will
never break due to an automatic rebuild.

Hello,
a) is there already somwhere a script, which replaces duplicate files in
packages with softlinks?
b) How can the duplicate files problem be handled with language files:
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/images/sec_remove_sr_YU.png:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/images/sec_remove_hr_HR.png
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_PT/addresses.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_BR/addresses.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_PT/FAQ.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_BR/FAQ.hlp

W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_BR/folders.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_PT/folders.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_BR/compose.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_PT/compose.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_BR/basic.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/pt_PT/basic.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_US/search.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_GB/search.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_US/FAQ.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_GB/FAQ.hlp
W: squirrelmail-lang files-duplicate /srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_GB/basic.hlp:/srv/www/htdocs/squirrelmail/help/en_US/basic.hlp
All these files are marked using %lang. If I now use softlinks and partial
installation of language files is introduced, then the link targets may be
missing.
