Hi all Just a follow-up to James last post - assuming meeting every two weeks, the next one will be on tuesday, 2009-04-07, 17:00 UTC/GMT on #opensuse-edu. Hi @ll, Andrea http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/test/11.1/ now contains updates for * gcompris (update to 8.4.12 including our patches for 8.4.11) * italc (italc-launcher patches) * kiwi-desc-ltsp (=> cyberorg ?) * wine-doors (desktop file translation fix) http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-edu/2009-03/msg00045.html has already a list, just to keep you updated what's changed comparing to the current official released version: - brainworkshop - exelearning - Scilab - geogebra - ktechlab - childsplay - gcompris - python-pygame - python-numpy - littlewizard - littlewizard-examples - ignuit - avogadro - solfege - atomix - controlaula - openadmin - stardict I'm currently just waiting for Andreas "Go" for scilab. I think all other issues are fixed with the current version, so we can finally release 11.1 as Gold if scilab is ok and nobody raises another problem. Hi, i have been working on the branding packages and i discovered that a lot more packages then expected are needed to get it running correctly. Therefor i will need a little bit more time :( But i can show you a first screenshot of the rebranded gdm :) and the default wallpaper i have created. http://picasaweb.google.com/thecode83/OpenSUSEEducationBranding BTW is anyone else working on branding packages? Do you mybe have some informations what kind of system use other schools, so I can compare. Do you have information how many schools use you system, and how happy are they? [opensuse-edu] RFC: include susehelp in doc-packages

Hi Packagers :-) I think we could benefit a lot from the current susehelp system if we use it to integrate the package documentation into it. All what has to be done for this is: 1) create/reuse a desktop file containing: DocPath=<path_to_docu> X-DOC-Weight=<order-number> (and for packages comming with html docs and no inline viewer in the application itself for example: Exec=susehelp <path_to_docu> ) 2) create a directory in /usr/share/susehelp/meta/<packagename> 3) place the desktop file in this directory Result: People starting susehelp (KDE- or GNOME-Helpcenter) will see a link to the package documentation. For endusers is the frozen repo, there you can find on http://www.opensuse- education.org/download/repo/1.0/. kkirill continue translating and creating wiki pages e.g. http://en.opensuse.org/TuxMathScrabble. Thanks for this great and important work The_Code worked on the first gconf and gdm branding package. They hope that the first testpackages is in the next week ready.
