Hi all, Has anyone tried http://italc.sf.net/wiki/ ? Looks very interesting. I'm planning to use it in my Linux class. Have just compiled it on my notebook last night, and will try to install in on all the client later today after class. Greetings, My name is Jason Grizzle, and I'm an instructional technology specialist with Jackson County Schools in Georgia (USA). I'm excited about the educational focus for open suse. As a system, we're looking to migrate to SLED in (probably) 2-3 years for our Windows machines. My job function is tech. integration and teacher training, and I'm very interested in beta testing or developing documentation for you. I'm not a programmer, but I can develop web training, documents, and video tutorials. Please let me know how I can help you in your endeavors. Greetings! 1. It's good that there is the last version of StarDict, but may be you include also its word sounds and GPL dictionaries. 2. I'm glad to see wxMaxima and Octave, but may be you include also Scilab (program for numerical computations with own GUI) as to me it's better than Octave. 3. Gperiodic (periodic table of elements) and Little Wizard (programming for children). Hello everyone, Just after going to meet his new baby girl, our lead packager Lars Rupp. Offered me this good news, the birth of our own child the "EDU-CD" . the name is a little confusing it's status is alpha 1 , but it is built for openSUSE 10.3 alpha4 (it's also 10.2 compatible) give it a whirl. http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/openSUSE-Education-Alpha4-Addon.… I would like to discuss it and any further ideas about our education offerings soon. [opensuse-edu] ITALC segmentation fault

Hi all, Finally I'm setting up Italc on my two notebooks with Opensuse10.2. I follow the Install instruction from the INSTALL file: 1. Install the RPM: italc-1.0.2-14.1.i586.rpm italc-client-1.0.2-14.1.i586.rpm italc-master-1.0.2-14.1.i586.rpm 2. Generate the keys: ica -role teacher -createkeypair 3. Copy the /etc/italc/keys/public to the client notebook. 4. Start 'ica&' in client 5. Start 'ica&' and 'italc' in master 6. Setup class in Italc. Connect. Everything shows up! Wow. I can see the screen of the client from master. But then the problem arises: 1. When I choose "Demo screen" on master, the screen on the client goes blank with a window "Connecting to Italc at 192.168.1.101" (my master IP). It stays this way until I cancel the demo screen in the master. 2. Then after that, everytime I start Italc on the master, Italc immediately crashes with segmentation fault. Is there something I miss? How can I troubleshoot it? I think Italc is really-really good, hopefully the problem can be overcome. Thank you very much for any help. PS. I'm using wireless access to connect from master to client.
