these seem to execute ok, which I assume from the fact that
they dont report errors
Another book i'm looking at is Red Hat Linux Network Toolkit.
According to that (p73), to check that the daemons are running,
ps x | grep mbd
should produce output which references both smbd and nmbd.
When I run it, I get only a single reference to smbd. Is nmbd really
running? How can I check?
