We received a gift PC this morning.
Gateway 1.5 GHz 512MB 140Gb HD with Windows XP Home
A perfect candidate for Li-f-e but it only has CD-RW
Many older PC's only have CD drives so can not easily install (or run)
Li-f-e.
A net install might be a nice option. Or an add-on CD.
The Live USB stick option should work (after I buy, and try, one).
I also suggest adding a DVD requirement to the below listed site.
http://en.opensuse.org/Education/Live states:
Minimum System Requirement
Any PC or a Virtual Machine with 512M RAM

I would like to know how to modify the current Live CD to password the
root account and limit it to one logon. I need to set it up to boot
into a wireless network. This is on some new laptops where I am not
permitted to make changes to the HDD installation (which is a plain XP
install with no apps). The center director wants me to build a CD
where they can access the Internet and have the same type of
environment they do via the LTSP OpenSuse EDU installation in the
building on the dumb terminals.
Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks in advance!
