I did install it as standard x86 on my setup and it worked like a dream. It's just the 64-bit I'm
having trouble with. Updates, filesystem corruption, etc.

I had a few hangups here, on my system ... first was due to the BIOS, which
was solved when I upgraded. Had to do with DMA, which need to be or the
system will be significantly slower. Second, I've had a few apparent
freezes ... which are mostly the system just locking itself for a few
seconds, or longer and than coming back to life. Otherwise, SuSE 9.1 has
worked marvelously for me since it came out. My system is an MSI NEO, AMD64
3000+ with 512Mb memory. After reading a bit, I came across that a possible
scenario for hangups is the power supply. If it's flaky, it can cause power
drop to the cpu which will stop working properly ... something to look out
for, if you built your system on an older box, with new Mobo + Cpu.
