Hello,
I installed opensuse 10.2, 32 bit OS in my laptop. I'm not able to
connect it to the wifi network. Windows vista is detecting my wifi
card as AR5007EG and is working fine. I don't have much knowledge
about the OS, i just followed the instruction given in one of the
forum:
1) Installed ndiswrapper that came with the dvd using yast
2) Installed the windows xp ar5007eg driver using the following commands:
ndiswrapper -i net5211.inf // no error detected
modprobe ndiswrapper // does not return any message
iwconfig // displayed the following: lo no wirless detected
Also configured the network devices in the yast. just done the following:
Found no device in the network manager.
Added the device type: wireless
Configuration name: wifi0
Module name: ndiswrapper
and configured to start at boot. no other changes.
After done the following rebooted the PC, but of no use. "iwconfig" is
returning the same message: lo no wireless detected
I've attaced the forum page is referred for your reference.
For your information, i've not even tried connecting to the network
using ethernet.
Please help me in solving the issue. Thanks in advance.
regards,
madhan.
