apache+php 64 calling elf32 exe

Hi all, I am new here; I have found that if I call an ELF32 Executable program from a php page loaded by a 64 bit PHP module then I obtain a shared library error, even if the program does not require the library. practical example: compile this ====== pro.c #include <stdio.h> main() { printf("Hello world\n"); } ------ cc -o pro -m32 pro.c then call it from a php page: ========= r.phtml <?php $s = "/tmp/pro 2>/tmp/er 1>&2"; echo "$s : "; $rrr=exec($s); echo `cat /tmp/er`; echo "<hr>"; // just to test that it works... $s = "ls -al /tmp 2>/tmp/er 1>&2"; echo "$s : "; $rrr=exec($s); echo `cat /tmp/er`; ?> ---- http://localhost/r,phtml issuee? install fails with "/dev/ram2: unknown fs type"

Hi list, I have a strange problem. I have an IBM e325 server with two opteron chips on it. We installed SUSE 9.1 on this machine with out any problems and it works great. We just purchased SLES 9 and now we are trying to install SLES 9 on the machine but the install fails. The machine boots and starts the install and gets to the point where it start to load the RAM disk with this message on the screen. "Loading data into Ram disk 57950 KB" Then on the console I see this message Loading image "/var/adm/mount/boot/root" /dev/ram2: unknown fs type mount: /dev/ram2: no such device and right after this I get put on the "Main Menu" of the install program and can not continue from here. Any ideas why Suse 9.1 installs with no problems but SLES 9 does not? We are really happy with SuSe 9.1 but we have to switch to SLES 9 in order to get support from IBM. lm_sensors and /proc/sys/dev/sensors

At the risk that this is an incredibly stupid question, I'm going to ask it anyways <g>. No go, it complains that /proc/sys/dev/sensors doesn't exist. Some googling reveals that means that sensor support isn't compiled into the kernel. That doesn't make sense to me, if sensor support isn't compiled in, then why does lm_sensors seem to work fine? If it is compiled in, then why do I not have a /proc/sys/dev/sensors ? It's pushing it. I've seen my AMD64 notebook hug that temperature a few times, but that is only when I have it runnung high intense apps with it unplugged or in charging state due to battery heat; running at 100% capacity at all times. You may want to have the cooling system and fan checked out. JD

need help with megaraid driver, suse 9.2

Hello, Can't figure out why the megaraid module won't load for the LSI Logic MegaRAID 150-6 card. The LSI site has a driver for Suse 9.1, but not for Suse 9.2. Has anyone else had difficulty with this? Any pointers or solutions would be most welcome. Thank you, James

Hi, I don't know if my question is IN- or OFF-topic, but (Alway for the temperature, do you remeber my email?) in my ASUS notebook with suse 9.2 Professional, the AMD64's temperatur cpu processor is from 52 to 58 celsius degree. Is this normal ? Tnx and sorry if this is an offtopic.

memory problem with suse 9.2

Hello all, I have a proliant server with 4 GB RAM and a 3GHz processor. I am using suse 9.2 professional and installing oracle 9i on it. But when a look at free results just after booting the server with no larg program running: babao:~ # free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 4042056 4024008 18048 0 4920 35636 -/+ buffers/cache: 3983452 58604 Swap: 2104472 6068 2098404 almost all memory is allocated. I have just updated the system and it didn't change. I noticed that when I start a program like oracles dbca (assistent to create database) the machine almost dies running like a slower than my workstation. I also had a problem installing suse 9.2. It didn't started with 4GB of ram. I reduced to 2GB and the installation went fine. Hi, What is the definitions of "the buffers" from the free display? DESCRIPTION free displays the total amount of free and used physical and swap memory in the system, as well as the buffers used by the kernel. That value keeps going up on my box. Is that like the VMALLOC pool ? Does this mean I have a memory leak? -----Original Message----- From: William A.
