Folks, During the openSUSE Asia Summit's community meeting we discussed things that should be & can be done. One of those was about the openSUSE documentation. I checked doc.opensuse.org. I notice that all the documentation are currently copyrighted [1] by SUSE. Although the docs are granted GNU Free Documentation License it sounds proper to have the content ownership under openSUSE. Such a thing should not wait for the creation of a foundation. It also appears that the documentation workload is currently on the shoulders of the SUSE documentation team (only). I would like to help, more specifically collaborating with Kubic/MicroOS team to have a Container documentation. How should I proceed? Hi there, As an openSUSE member and member of a small team of french translator (mainly openSUSE news, wiki, etc...), I am thinking of translating https://github.com/openSUSE/doc-sle-translations/tree/develop/fr/po into French. One of the critic I hear often is that openSUSE lacks an up to date documentation. I do think that a localized reference doc may help the adoption of openSUSE Leap or Tumbleweed. At the moment, I have just forked the repo here: https://github.com/alionetasso/doc-sle-translations but before starting the work, I would like to know if it is or not a good idea and if it is, is there specific things that I should be aware of. Hi, I am a member of openSUSE Chinese team. We used to work on a translation project of openSUSE documentation on Transifex and here are a lot of translation done. Link: https://www.transifex.com/opensuse-doc/opensuse-manuals/ However, here isn't a way to read any translation on https://doc.opensuse.org/ . And the Transifex project was not active for a long time. My questions are: 1. Could you add translation support to https://doc.opensuse.org/ ? 2. Does it use GNU Gettext (po) or other technology? Or it just doesn't support any translation? 3. Could you add a project for documentation on https://l10n.opensuse.org/ ? 4. Can we contribute translation through Github if here is no other way? Hello list, while executing daps, i'm getting that warnings: [warning] /usr/share/daps/libexec/daps-jing: No java runtime was found /home/sascha/RubymineProjects/hoe- manns/docbook/images/src/png/ruby.png not optimized. How is that fixable? Hello, I ran today into the issue https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=992375 However, the documentation https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/reference/html/book.opensuse.re… is not updated as proposed in bugzilla/github. Is there any reason for not updating the online documentation? I highly recommend to generate and update the documentation since Google is referencing it. Why shouldn't it be better, both respectful of user settings, and highly legible? Web claims of "too much contrast is bad" pale in comparison to overall poor legibility. People with too bright/contrasty displays can turn back those settings.
