[opensuse-doc] Translating in ActiveDoc

Hi, I tried to translate Start-Up Guide for the first time. It was quite easy except: 1) Making permalink in headers I have to extract id of heading or id of document from HTML source to replace it with appropriate data in permalink. I would be handy if permalink links could be created automatically next to heading. 2) Create right text formatting according to Documentation Conventions. It would be nice if TinyMCE could format text with elements defined in Documentation Convention. E.g. if I want to highlight filename, it could be: select text and from Styles dropdown select "filename", which would enclose text in <code class="filename"></code>. Now if you select Style filename, selected text is enclosed in <span class="filename"></code> which is not highlighted by CSS like Documentation Convention says. 3) I can't include translated articles into any Book If I select to include it in openSUSE Start-Up, it is included directly into English manual. Is there any possibility to create a new book or something to collect translated articles? 4) Some probably out-of-date info In article About this guide is "4 About the Making of This Manual" heading. It describes NovDoc formatting. But is it really used? 5) Decision what to translate I'm confused, what to translate. There are more than one version of the same Start-Up Guide. I went to Factory, like in Distribution translation. But when openSUSE 13.2 come, will be Factory copied as 13.2 Documentation? Hello all, I'm now testing openSUSE 13.1 beta1, but noticed that no documentations (opensuse-{kvm,manuals,reference..}_$LANG-*.noarch.rpm) found in repo/oss/suse/noarch directory. In OBS side, opensuse-manuals_$LANG (in project "Documentation") was marked as "broken" ("Files could not be expanded.."). is it OBS server problem? or any other problem? [opensuse-doc] Doc enhancement: how to change the displayed book name and insert a translator credit page?

Hi, Thomas & listmates, I published a preview version of openSUSE startup doc on forum.suse.org.cn And here're the feedbacks I collected: 1. The book name is displayed as "openSUSE startup", some sections are displayed as "KDE Quick Start", "Installation Quick Start"... There're more suitable/readable names in Chinese, so I want to replace them. I tried to change entity-decl.ent in xml directory, regenerate xmls, and `daps` again, but the names didn't change. I can't find any other places defined the name... 2. I set up and used transifex to help gathering enough translators. So I can't just add a few lines to the acknowledgement page after Linus. It is possible that some kind guys writing some perl scripts to extract the translator credits in every po, generate a new xml, and integrate it into our existing documentation? I think this way of saying thanks may be better, XD. Or I'll have to read about 50 po files, note them, and hack xml...which is a lot of work and hard to maintain. Hi all, Zao, As an introduction: I am part of the documentation team & working on the (hopefully future) design of SUSE's manuals. I researched CJK fonts a bit and how to best deal with them, but a few questions remained. #1 I saw that e.g. Microsoft uses different default fonts for Chinese/simplified, Chinese/traditional, Japanese & Korean text. I don't quite understand this, as there are many fonts which seem to cover the whole spectrum of CJK characters (like WenQuanYi Micro Hei [1], which I am currently using). Why? Are there common characters (i.e. Chinese traditonal characters) that are written differently between countries? (Or, in other words, is it appropriate to confront Japanese, Korean or RoC users with fonts designed for mainland China?) #2 I learned that I should use a Hei Ti/Kei Ti font instead of making text bold/italic [2]. * How do Hei Ti and Kei Ti styles relate to Ming fonts? What are the differences? * Since my chosen font, WQY Micro Hei is already a Hei font (I would assume), what script types would I need to use instead for bold/italic? * What kind of font is considered most readable? (I learned e.g. that in Arabic countries the more geometric Kufic script is often considered to be badly readable.) * I learned that Japanese supports "emphasis lines" and "emphasis dots". Do these work in left-to-right text, too (I have only seen an example in top-to-bottom style)? Do these features exist for Chinese, too? Thanks in advance, Stefan. [opensuse-doc] suse-xsl-stylesheets 1.9.19 not in factory

Hi, I am building a french openSUSE manual package but latest sources need suse-xsl-stylesheets 1.9.19 to build and Factory have only 1.9.18. Update request have been declined: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/161597 Would it be possible to fix that, please? Currently, it builds fine in home repo linking to Documentation:Tools project but if I submit it to Documentation project, it won't build anymore.
