Hi, when calling functions known to raise exceptions, its always good practice to enclose calls with begin ... rescue ... end and catch exceptions locally. Catching exceptions should cover known problems (i.e. missing permissions) as well as generic problems. Example: WRONG: call_function_which_might_raise NOT ENOUGH: begin call_function_which_might_raise rescue KnownException => e handle_known_exception e end GOOD: begin call_function_which_might_raise rescue KnownException => e handle_known_exception e rescue Exception => e handle_generic_exception e end The 'wrong' and 'not enough' cases validate bug reports. [yast-devel] WebYaST: users "confirm password" validation

I found strange behavior of $SUBJ field validation. It works as expected in Chromium and Internet Explorer but something strange is with Firefox. So validation should be triggered by "onkeyup" event. But it doesn't work without any js error message. Very similar code is in administration plugin and it works. Only difference is that users has several forms. [yast-devel] WebYaST - running tests from *-testsuite subpackages

Hi all, There is one more new possibility to run the tests: from new *-testsuite subpackages. The difference to running them from GIT and during RPM build is that there is one more restriction: writing to a file located in the application (or plugin) subdirectory fails unless the test is started as root (or yastws/lighttpd user). And because running the tests doesn't require to be root (or yastws/lighttpd) it's actually a bug. (BTW I have fixed assert_valid_markup assertion so failed write to tidy-failed.html file doesn't fail the whole test but just prints a warning instead.) I have created a wiki page about running tests as non-root user, see http://en.opensuse.org/YaST/Web/Installation#Testsuite_Subpackages Currently these tests fail: webyast-roles-ws-testsuite - bnc#599699 webyast-firstboot-ws-testsuite - bnc#599703 webyast-licenses-ui - bnc#599715 The fix should be to write to a temporary file (created by Tempfile class, see http://ruby-doc.org/core/classes/Tempfile.html and e.g. http://snippets.dzone.com/posts/show/6002 for an example). [yast-devel] WebYaST: install updated rubygem-webyast-rake-tasks package

Hi all, we (me and Pepa) have found out that www.tar.bz2 files include also .gitignore files which should not be packed into RPMs. The problem is that commands "git ls-files . --exclude=.gitignore" or "git ls-files . --exclude-standard" surprisingly print .gitingore files in the list. (Reported in bnc#599664.) As a workaround I have replaced the --exclude option by "grep -v" command in the rake package(-local) task. Hi! I'd like to ask you to look at "repository like" users&groups dialogs and give me your opinions. It's not merged into master yet, so webclient part you'll find in "users-gagarin3" branch.
