[yast-devel] YaST svn migrated to git

Hi YaST hackers, the YaST svn migrated to git - finally! After about 24 hours the conversion was completed. All 147 YasT modules are now uploaded to github.com. If you do not yet have a login on github.com, go and create one. The YaST modules are grouped in the yast organization: https://github.com/yast As the libYUI was extracted from the YaST code base we put them into its own organization to underline its independence: https://github.com/libyui We also got our first forks while I was still uploading the repos. This shows the collaborative strength of git hosted projects. To make your initial clones a little easier there is a small tool called 'y2m' in this repo. https://github.com/yast/yast-meta If just follow the installation instructions in the README this tool helps you to clone or checkout all (or just some) YaST modules. Please feel free to adapt and improve this tool (grep for TODO) or write a better one. I just wanted to give those guys who are used to svn a small tool to help them getting started. Just one module did not make it in the conversion: yast-qt-pkg I will reenable write access to it in svn. Thus it will be migrated later. [yast-devel] Announcement: SVN to GIT migration - Wednesday 16th 16:00 CEST

Hi everybody, It's been a long effort to create a tool that can migrate the YaST SVN repo into single git repos. In its current state all but one repo succeed in the conversion. The missing/failing module is 'qt-pkg'. Based on these facts the YaST-Team on Monday decided not to wait until the conversion tool is perfect, but rather do the switch to git ASAP. As there is a German holiday on Thursday we decided to switch the SVN to read- only on Wednesday 16:00 CEST. Then a final dump will be made and the conversion will run. The only YaST module that will be switched back to read- write in SVN is 'qt-pkg. Once all other modules are done they will be uploaded to github. There will be a separate announcement eMail when it is done. So checkin everything you are working on now, as on Thursday you will not be able to checkin any changes. See you on Friday on github.com. [yast-devel] liberation of libyui, plugins and bindings

Hello, since there was no more work on this topic as done by N. B. Prashanth in August 2011, i just wanted to ask if the plans to liberate it are still up-to-date. Sowhere I read it will be done, when YaST is moved to github. Is there any recent information ? If someone would do the porting-work, is there a chance to get liberated libyui any time sooner? Hi, I noticed that YaST prints garbage when the logfile cannot be opened.
