Klaus created an script to check that your system is more or less prepared to act as a development box for the rest service. A development box is different because you may want to enable your running user to use the yast dbus calls instead of the webservice user. On the other hand you may want to enable resources permissions to the user you want to use to login in the web client, which may be the same or may be is root. [yast-devel] user form problem and other cleanups

The form now works: form_for(:user, @user, :url => { :action => "update" }, :html => { :method => :put } ) do |f| %> Rails was right, the route is configured to do a put, and to get the put, one needs to put it into the :html option. That together with changing YaST::ServiceResource to actually use simple class names solves the problem. ( now org.yast.foo is no longer YaST::ServiceResource::Proxies::OrgYaSTFoo but only YaST::ServiceResource::Proxies::Foo ) and then we will add a feature to request the proxy with a custom class name in case you need to handle resources named equal. I may had broke sshkeys. Some things that can be improved (not necessarily for the milestone): - When one uses form_for, rails generates for fields with name="modelname[atrrname] instead of name="attrname". so making @user.attrname = params[:user][:attrname] for every attribute is not needed. as params[:user] is already a Hash with all the values, you can init the model with the hash values: require 'active_resource' class Resource < ActiveResource::Base self.site = "http://localhost:8080" end r = Resource.new(:a => "foo", :b => "kfk") => #<Resource:0x7f3fa1058560 @prefix_options={}, @attributes={"a"=>"foo", "b"=>"kfk"}> values = {:a => "foo", :b => "kfk"} r = Resource.new(values) => #<Resource:0x7f3fa1029b98 @prefix_options={}, @attributes={"a"=>"foo", "b"=>"kfk"}> It works, so why not simply @user = User.new(params[:user]) and we save tons of lines of code. Now, we don't have a class User because we generate it dynamically using YaST::ServiceResource, so @client.new(params[:user]) makes the trick. - ssh key handling. Right now in the web client the user ssh key is mapped to a custom method exportSsh key. Everything is handled in the same controller using ifs according to what form button was pressed and makes the code quite complicated. yesterday backlog: - Martin sent around some changes to the design for comments. - schubi is working on testcases for dbus - time and language seems to work. dmacvicar trying to make users module (broken forms) work. patches display work but I can't test because I am on factory. - bgeuken is working on security - we are having some serious random problems with dbus Today - agreement: if localhost:8080 its found then we present immediately the login to that one and a link to "browse other services". So make easier the default case. Hi, I would like to make a change to the storage target map. Currently hard disks used by dm multipath or dm raid can contain partitions in the target map. I want to remove those partitions entries in from the target map: So currently: "/dev/mapper/isw_cfcdifeiii_test" : $[ "devices" : [ "/dev/sdc", "/dev/sdd" ], "partitions" : [ $[ "detected_fs" : `ext3, "device" : "/dev/mapper/isw_cfcdifeiii_test_part1", "fsid" : 253, ... "/dev/sdc" : $[ "partitions" : [ $[ "detected_fs" : `ext3, "device" : "/dev/sdc1", "fsid" : 253, ... "used_by" : "isw_cfcdifeiii_test", "used_by_device" : "/dev/mapper/isw_cfcdifeiii_test", "used_by_type" : `UB_DMRAID, ... will become: "/dev/mapper/isw_cfcdifeiii_test" : $[ "devices" : [ "/dev/sdc", "/dev/sdd" ], "partitions" : [ $[ "detected_fs" : `ext3, "device" : "/dev/mapper/isw_cfcdifeiii_test_part1", "fsid" : 253, ... Those partitions entries are unreliable and cannot be used anyway. If you see a problem please say so now. The motivation behind this is simple: In the future libstorage can be changed to not even probe partitions on hard disks used by dm multipath or dm raid. That probing has caused bugs in the past. I have done the following changes to YaST:Head YaST:Head openSUSE_11.1 now builds on top of zypp:Head/openSUSE_11.1, otherwise almost no YaST package builds because 11.1 does not has the appropiate recent libzypp libraries. You need to have added zypp:Head/openSUSE_11.1 if you expect to install packages from there. (This is a good example how hard it would be to build YaST:Head out of openSUSE, fixing this would be a good exercise). YaST:Head openSUSE_Factory stays as it is, building against plain Factory.
