Hi Joachim, I am sure about properly supported way for SLE12 SP1 ( which I am also not sure if it is not already out of support ). But if I get it properly, boot process cannot find filesystem, so this means that it initrd missing some module to read it. Do you have module in your initrd to read that perc controller? unpacking only does not help if it is not also included in initrd that is loaded during boot process. So when calling mkinitrd check if all required modules for given perc controller is included there. If it is there, please write more informations like which boot failed? when starting installation or after installation when trying to boot target system. How exactly you inject that kernel module? Do you already check driver kits documented by SUSE? https://drivers.suse.com/doc/Usage/Driver_Kits.html It specify also how to add additional driver to installation. Hi, we have to add a kernel module for a perc controller. We unpacked the initrd an placed it under lib/modules/3.12.49-11-default/updates/ but the boot process failed with "No filesystem ..." [opensuse-autoinstall] Strange behaviour with confirm=false

Hello I've been using autoyast since openSUSE 10.2 and it's a great tool. Thanks to every single developer who contributed to it. While re-testing all the custom control files we use at the lab with Leap 42.3 release I have noticed a strange behaviour with the option 'confirm' that controls unattended installation. Here's my scenario : GPT partition table with bios boot (not efi), custom partitioning but nothing silly, then various options. Whatever I add to the control file the installation process works flawlessly until I finish testing it. Then I turn it to unattended with the following directive : <confirm config:type="boolean"> false </confirm> The installation with full control file goes well but the system won't reboot (no valid boot device). After a bit of search I noticed that it is related to the pmbr_boot flag on the disk not being set. Adding it manually with parted solves the problem so as a workaround I added a very simple chroot-script to make it. Since I thought I had probably messed up something I did a lot of testing to reproduce it (even with minimal control file) and figured that the confirm option is the issue. I can't figure how it would affect the bootlader part of the process after package installation but it does. Anyone have any idea or should I simply fill a bug report ? [opensuse-autoinstall] specify autoinst.xml by autoyast2 statement

Hello, I try to set the path to the autoyast profile via the autoyast2 statement. According to the linxrc documentation and the autoyast documentation the following string should work (I think): autoyast2=disk:/?device=*label/system_14_*/autoinst_new.xml But Autoyast can't find the xml. [opensuse-autoinstall] How to get the path of the installation source

Hello, I have a working autoyast installation which can be used from either a usb stick, dvd or via NFS (when booting via pxe). I have to copy the files of the installation source to the harddisk. But what is the best way to do this? A post install script? How to find out where the files are located? [opensuse-autoinstall] sle-sdk product no longer marked as installed in SP2/SP3

I recently noticed that an autoyast installation of SLES 12 SP3 did not show the the SDK as being installed (in the output of ‘zypper search -t product’), despite it being present in my profile, and 'SUSEConnect --list-extensions' reported it as registered but not installed. Running ‘zypper install sle-sdk-release’ or ‘zypper in -t product sle-sdk’ afterwards will then mark it as installed. Further testing revealed this to be the case in SP2 also, but for SLES 12 SP1, the sle-sdk product *is* still automatically installed. I have had the mounted SLE SDK ISO listed as an add-on in my profile for many versions (going back to SLES 11 GA, I believe) much like this: ==== <add-on>  <add_on_products config:type="list"> <listentry> <media_url>http://rgs-install.local/mounts/sles12/sp2/sdk1/</media_url> <product>sle-sdk</product> <product_dir>/</product_dir> <alias>SLE-SDK12-SP2</alias> </listentry> </add_on_products> </add-on> ==== And up through SLES 12 SP1, everything was fine. Is there no parameter to set the location of the autoinst-file for bot, DVD and USB? file:///autionst.xml is only working on DVD, not on a pen drive, device:/// is only working on a pen drive but not on a DVD... Hello, after solving my efi-case I struggle with another problem..... I create an Iso-Image for our stuff which they can download and install opensuse to their machines. They can burn the ISO on a DVD or create a usb-stick from that iso. Booting is working from both. But I have only one grub.cfg. So, how to tell the opensuse installation system the correct path to the repo and the autoinst-xml-file? At the moment I try it with: install=disk:/?device=*label/inst_14_* autoyast2=disk:/?device=*label/inst_14_*/autoinst.xml The ISO and the USB stick are labled with "inst_14_??" where ?? is a version number. But the installation process can't find the installation source, doesn't matter If I boot from USB oder DVD. Any hints? Hello, I try to create a UEFI-Bootable Iso-Image. The "normal" Iso is working fine, but on a UEFI-Only machine the burned DVD is not found.
