[opensuse-autoinstall] using custom repository via AutoYast is not employed

I've asked this in a SLES forum, but no feedback yet: https://forums.suse.com/discussion/14815/using-custom-repository-via-autoya… is-not-employed And, I've sent email to yast-devel(a)opensuse.org, but that messsage is hung up, awaiting moderator approval. To repeat those details here: I'm exploring maintaining a private repository, and am trying to employ it via AutoYast, all under SLES 12 SP5. I'm hoping someone can provide some guidance. I realize this is an opensuse list, but I'm hoping autoyast syntax is the same across these distributions. I added this to my autoinst.xml file: <add-on> <add_on_others config:type="list"> <listentry> <media_url><![CDATA[http://10.153.19.116/repo/]]></media_url> <product>Example Product</product> <alias>example</alias> <product_dir>/</product_dir> <priority>30</priority> </listentry> </add_on_others> </add-on> But, when I also declare a package from that repository to install, YaST throws errors: 2020-06-18 17:31:15 <3> install(18178) [Ruby] modules/AutoinstSoftware.rb:1096 Cannot select following packages for installation: 2020-06-18 17:31:15 <3> install(18178) [Ruby] modules/AutoinstSoftware.rb:1099 java-13_0_2-openjdk : The package is not available. (selected by AutoYaST con figuration file) And I see no evidence that YaST attempted to process my repository in the logs. [opensuse-autoinstall] AutoYaST tools: feedback wanted

Hi all, After doing some research[1] (thanks all for your feedback), the YaST team has started to work on improving AutoYaST. We have identified some areas that we should focus on. One of them, is the process of creating an AutoYaST profile. Creating a profile can be quite challenging, so we offer two different tools to help you in this process: * The "yast2 clone_system" command, which generates a profile with the configuration of the current system. It allows to filter which parts of the profile take into account. * The "AutoYaST UI", which allows to create a profile from scratch (or by cloning the configuration of the current system) and modify the values using a UI. This tool is included in the "autoyast2" package. However, we wonder how do you create your profiles. Do you use any of those tools? Or do you just write some XML yourself? Perhaps you use the tools and tweak the results later... Moreover, we would love to know which problems do you face when you try to create a new profile. Is there anything our tools could do to make your life easier? What about providing some kind of "templates" (minimal, full...) you can tweak? Any other idea? Please, if you can, help us with providing your feedback. Of course, any comment beside these questions is highly appreciated as well. [opensuse-autoinstall] How can I skip yesno_messages in autoyast

I see in the docs that some messages cannot be skipped (and mine does relate to partitioning) but in short, I'm installing and partitioning a disk that the installer is running from. It errors out saying: Umounting /dev/sdc1 at /var/adm/mount/AP_fkj8904 Unexpected situation found in the system. Continue despite the error? Have not yet tried UEFI mode or 15.2. Hello, to find bugs and to be prepared when 15.2 is released I'm testing 15.2. Now, I wan't to start an autoinstallation via pxe. But when I try to boot the kernel from 15.2 via PXE I get "invalid or corrupt kernel image". Checked the md5sums of the kernel, it is OK. Our old 42.3 system works like a charm. 15.2 gives this error. Is there something special on 15.2? [opensuse-autoinstall] Autoyast SLES 15 SP1 with proxy: too much characters ?!

Hi, we face some problems with Autoyast on SLES 15.1. Autoyast runs perfectly in our test environment with or without a proxy server. After some investigations, we found that passing the parameters to the kernel causes sometimes problems, especially, when the parameters exceed a certain length works: ifcg=eth0=192.168.x.y/24,192.168.x.a,192.168.x.b autoyast=device://fd0/autoinst.xml. ifcg=eth0=dhcp proxy=192.168.x.p:8080 autoyast=device://fd0/autoinst.xml. fails: ifcg=eth0=192.168.x.y/24,192.168.x.a,192.168.x.b proxy=192.168.x.p:8080 autoyast=device://fd0/autoinst.xml. So this looks like it is a bug when the kernel paramteres passed are to much.. Can we add the parameters in a file? Which file would that be and where do we have to insert it? Using the parameter "info=disk:/info" reads the file from floppy. info-file: -------- ifcfg=eth0=dhcp proxy=http://192.168.x.y:8080 AutoYaST=device://fd0/autoinst.xml This above scenario works. But switching to fixed ip address, it fails info-file: -------- ifcfg=eth0=192.168.x.y/24,gateway ip,dns ip,dns name proxy=http://192.168.x.y:8080 AutoYaST=device://fd0/autoinst.xml Any idea whats wrong? [opensuse-autoinstall] GPT without EFI: HowTo?

Hello, I try to install a system with GPT and grub2 without EFI. AS far as I know I need some space for the grub2 stage2 at the first place of the harddisk with the ID "bios-boot" But how can I do this via autoyast?
