Hey,
Dominique and I are currently wondering what to do wrt libexecdir for
evolution-data-server. Should we leave it unchanged (so files will be in
/usr/lib) or should we change it to /usr/lib/evolution-data-server?
If the latter, is there any reason this is not done automatically?
Also, hrm, would rpmlint have ways to warn about packages that put
binaries in libdir instead of libexecdir? (I can find a few of them here
with a grep)

Dear All,
this is an error, I get upon building SpamAssassin on older OSS versions (<11.3); is this a thing, that should be globally fixed?
Best regards,
Johannes

Hi! I get the following messages which leads to multiple build failures in
several packages in 11.4: "service syslog is missed" Is it made
intentionally? Under Factory all is OK.

Hi!
I have the following problem: a program builds well, it is linked,
automatically found dependencies and so on. When installing the package it
automatically installs the libraries with which it was built. But when trying
to run it is says: error while loading shared libraries: libqwtplot3d.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
The library actually exists in the system. What should I do?

I am looking for a technically valid value for this line:
%suse_update_desktop_file -r %{dir_name} XXX
for an astrology program. I do not want to stir up controversy, because I have
a lot of planets in Libra -:)
I am looking for a value that has these 3 features:
1) will be accepted without error or warning by the build system.
2) will take no position on the status of astrology i.e.
2a) will not disparage astrology by calling it a game or entertainment
2b) will not anger the astrology rejectors by calling it a science.
Note the recent controversy in India!
3) will be true so far as it goes (I suspect something under graphics, all
will agree that astrology programs produce graphical output.)
I believe that packagers should package programs accurately in a way that does
not impose one's own views on controversial issues.
Please, the jokes are obvious. Please avoid obvious jokes.
I am looking for a sincere answer.

I am the maintainer of the «bash-completion» package in the «shells» project.
While I was updating the package to a newer version, an error occurred
and now I am in the following situation:
> osc co shells bash-completion
A shells
A shells/bash-completion
The link in this package is currently broken. Checking
out the last working version instead; please use 'osc pull'
to repair the link.
A shells/bash-completion/_service
A shells/bash-completion/bash-completion-fix-service.patch
A shells/bash-completion/bash-completion.changes
A shells/bash-completion/bash-completion.spec
> osc pull
Please commit your local changes first!
> osc status
! _service:download_url:bash-completion-1.2.tar.bz2
What can I do to fix this package, so as to be able to update it?
I tried reverting the last commit using the web-based OBS interface at
build.opensuse.org, but it fails with the following message: «Please
provide a target for the submit request».
Thanks,
Marco Poletti

The opensuse Packaging/Fonts Policy
http://old-en.opensuse.org/Packaging/Fonts_Policy#Package_layout_for_fonts
still contains numerous references to fedora!
I am glad the two cos are working together, but....
Do I understand correctly that if my package has only one font, I still must
split that one font into a seperate package???

I am trying to package a program called maitreya using obs.
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=rpm&project=home%3Apelliott…
for opensuse and mandrivia I am getting an undefined reference to
wxXmlNode::GetNodeContent() const
when compiling textclient.o
The program builds correctly for fedora, as well as debian and ubuntu 10.10.
Can anyone tell if this problem is caused by opensuse's distro or the upstream
source? Is there perhaps an undocumented dependancy I need to add? The Program
uses wxWidgets-devel.
Could the readme refering to %wx_requires be the cause of this problem?
