Hello, If someone is able to organize a booth or wants to give talks at FrOSCon (St. Augustin, Germany), some informations are included for you. The deadline is May 23rd . Greetings Marcel Call for Projects 2013 // English \\ (für eine Deutsche Version siehe unten) although it has been a while since last FrOSCon, we would like to thank you again for having made this very successful event possible. The feedback was once again overwhelmingly positive. Meanwhile, preparations for the eighth FrOSCon are well underway. This year's FrOSCon takes place on August 24th and 25th. We would be pleased if your project would like to contribute again to this year's FrOSCon and thus support the communication and exchange within the Open Source and Free Software community. Depending on the kind of your participation, there is different information available to you. # Booth # To sign up for a booth, please visit https://callforprojects.froscon.org and register your project. Please feel free to contact us for any questions at exhibitors(a)froscon.org. The registration for booths will be open until May 23rd. # Developer Room # If your project wants to sign up for a developer room, please visit https://callforprojects.froscon.org, register your project and submit a proposal. The proposal should contain a short summary (1-2 paragraphs) of what you plan to do and special requirements. Since the demand for developer rooms usually exceeds the number of rooms we can offer, we will choose the projects which look the most promising to us based on the submitted proposals. If you have questions concerning the developer rooms, feel free to contact projects(a)froscon.org. The deadline for the submission of developer room proposals is also May 23rd. # Talk or Workshop # Additionally our Call for Papers already started, we are looking forward to your submissions of talks and workshops. You can register via http://cfp.froscon.org/. For further information concerning the Call for Papers take a look at http://www.froscon.de/en/program/call-for-papers/. The Call for Papers will end on May 23rd, too. # Important Dates # May 23, 2013 End of Call for Projects. After this deadline your project can only be accepted if there is still enough space on the conference and enough time to organize your participation June 9th,2013 Notification if we accepted your project for a booth and/or developer room October 24th,2013 First day of FrOSCon We hope to meet you at FrOSCon in St. Augustin. Registriert dort euer Projekt und hinterlegt an der dafür vorgesehenen Stelle eine kurze Zusammenfassung (1-2 Absätze) über das geplante Programm in eurem Raum. Falls ihr spezielle Anforderungen habt, würden wir euch bitten diese auch dort mit anzugeben. Da wir in der Vergangenheit mehr Bewerbungen als Räume hatten, wählen wir die vielversprechendsten Projekte auf Grundlage der Beschreibungen aus. Die Deadline für die Bewerbung für einen Entwicklerraum ist der 23. Mai 2013. # Vortrag oder Workshop # Der Call for Papers ist gestartet und wir freuen uns auf eure Vorträge oder Workshops. OBS 2.4 coming

Heya all! Tomorrow the OBS team will release OBS 2.4! They have put in more than a year of hard work, so we have to promote that properly. A article is ready for obs.org and news.opensuse.org and they will go live tomorrow at 12:00 UTC. I have send the article & the announcement mail & a press kit with screenshots and extra info to the press last Friday and I will send them a reminder today. Now I ask all of you: help promote this! What can you do?** * Translate the article and blog it or submit it to your local news site(s) You can find the text of the article here: http://demo.firepad.io/#j0oImI6bFL (I made a text to submit to websites, see below the social media plan) * Make sure that on release day you tweet, dent, +1 and like the news! * If you maintain a openSUSE twitter, facebook etc account, see our Social Media plan: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Social_media_launch_plan#OBS_2.4 We need help with making sure our non-english Twitter/Facebook/etc accounts send out these messages! Greece: FOSSCOMM conference and release party in Athens

Hello Ambies and Lizzards all over the world... Next week (April 20-21) we'll have our annual Greek FOSS Communities conference in Athens. We prepare our participation. We'll have a booth and 3 presentations (including the #oSC13). Right now we're doing the booth logistics. For more information about preparations check out the wiki page [1]. Since we'll be in Athens, we planned a release party there. Our Hackerspace friends, provide their space (and beers) and we'll bring everything else.
