Here in Greece we celebrate the new year except from gifts but also by cutting a New Year's Pie where inside there is a coin hidden. Whoever finds it wins a special gift and is meant to be lucky the new year. A local Linux User Group located in Volos called Volug and LinuxTeam Teilar a Linux Team in Larisa where i live which both teams consist of colleagues had two small parties for cutting the New Year's Pie. I was there to celebrate with those people and inform them about openSUSE and openSUSE community. They were all interedted about openSUSE distribution. I answered many questions about Tumbleweed and Evergreen and informed them about our new 11.4 and OBS as many of them where interested about the work that is done by openSUSE community and by the Greek Community. I had some cds and posters with me which i gave them. In the future we will make some events together. Unfortunately we did not took any pictures.
I would slightly have won the hidden coin at the first party but the next person got it :(.
Happy New Year All!!!!
p.s. Sorry for my bad English

Hi Folks,
I am trying to co-coordinate our Facebook presence. At the moment,
there are quite a few openSUSE Pages and Groups with many members. If
you are administering an openSUSE Page or Group, please get in touch
so we can create a master list and know what belongs to whom.
To ensure the openSUSE message gets out there, the Marketing team
wants to work on a few key groups and pages, so we can help readers
find good pages and community, make sure questions are answered, and
keep pages spam free. A forgotten page, gathering dust, is not a nice
reader experience.
Of course there's no problem with having an 'unofficial' page or
group! This is community after all! But please send your URL and
contact info so we know which page is yours. (Even if it is only a
'small' page)
The main official (English language, general purpose) Group is this one:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2256834487
However Pages are a problem. Admins are not displayed and seem almost
impossible to contact.
The biggest pages are these:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/openSuse-Linux/12783888575
2,500 likes
http://www.facebook.com/pages/OpenSUSE/16720390225#!/pages/OpenSUSE/1672039…
2700 likes
http://www.facebook.com/pages/openSUSE/45393742283#!/pages/openSUSE/4539374…
1500 likes (and well detailed info)
It would make most sense to develop one of these strong pages as our
main Facebook portal, because they already have so many 'likes'. But
to do so we need to contact their administrators and invite them to
work with us.
So, If you are a page administrator, please email me your contact
information, Facebook profile and the page or group URL. Feel free to
do this off-list if your Facebook and List personas are separate.
thanks for your help!

Hi y'all,
I was wondering who'd like to go to Texas Linux Fest. If you set up a page on
our events page (http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ambassadors_events#2011)
using the template, we can coordinate there.
I have received a request from TLF to sponsor. I'd rather use the money to
support travel and/or hotel costs for our ambassadors but if you're serious
about doing something cool at the event we can always talk about it ;-)
Any questions? Let me know!
Cheers,
Jos

Hi all,
At the office Robert Lihm together with AJ and Michl (on his last few days...)
have been working on assembling a nice PR kit which we'll send to our
ambassadors. One thing for the kit we thought would be nice was a 'PR-how-to',
basically taking some important info from the wiki like a how-to-organize-a-
launch-party and other things and putting it on paper.
I know that among others Manu and Kostas have been looking at that and working
on it, as has Gnokii and others. Would any of those (or someone else) be
willing to assemble a few of those things from the wiki (including talking
points, the how-to's, FAQ etc etc) in an openoffice doc and send it to me?
Just the text would be OK, Robert makes sure it looks good and we put it in
the PR kit!
Thanks in advance,
Jos
Hello world
This is my election platform, please take a look.

It's nothing fancy but I think it's interesting and I'm sure it's honest.
Your comments and questions are more than welcome.
Thanks in advance
