[opensuse-packaging] qmake and CFLAGS

I have a program that compiles with just qmake && make. Since here there is no macro that can set the CFLAGS one would suppose that the "-fmessage-length=0 -O2 -Wall -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fstack-protector -funwind-tables -fasynchronous-unwind-tables" CFLAGS would not be used. Somehow qmake adds them (openSUSE patch?), but I have no idea about how that works. And it seems to add a -g even if you aren't creating debug packages. So, how these packages should be created? Should I rely in qmake magic? Hello, we had lots of development on osc lately. So we do a beta release this time first. For me it looks that this is more a RC than a beta actually, please install it and report about regressions. This is release is a candidate to be released as official updates for our distributions, so it is important that we create a good release :) We had also changed the command line syntax a bit to support the new request types. See this mail describing the changes: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2009-06/msg00018.html I know that changing command line syntax is not nice, but having an inconsistent syntax isn't nice either. Any suggestions are welcome ! Also the "delete*" commands were consolidated. Packages are available in the openSUSE:Tools:Unstable project: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools:/Unstable/ Please note that the new "deleterequest" and "changedevelrequest" will not work until we have updated api.opensuse.org. Hi, I'm wondering what the following does and if it works in openSUSE (and in which version if so): (seen in a Fedora spec file) %define __spec_install_post \ %{?__debug_package:%{__debug_install_post}} \ %{__arch_install_post} \ %{__os_install_post} \ some \ commands \ %{nil} It's apparently supposed to fix an issue I have currently solved by using fragile %post install scriptlets. I have binary files in the package for which I need something like checksums calculated and saved in another files. I couldn't create them in the build or install steps because they get changed when debuginfo is extracted. [opensuse-packaging] When a -devel package should require another -devel package?

Well, just that. Sometimes I find a -devel package requires another one, why? I do that when the pkg-config file has a "Requires: XXX" and rpmlint complains the same isn't in the RPM spec file, but normally I also don't see why the .pc file has such an entry. One case that makes sense is if the library is statically compiled and depends on another library, but that's no the common case. So, to know when I have to fix a .pc file (that should use Requires.private instead of Requires if the problem are static librariries) and when I must follow what it says... in which case a -devel package should depend on another one? With shared libraries I can't think of any valid case... Hello Mates, yesterday i've recieved the Information about the new Version from skrooge. It builds for 11.1 and Factory perfectly.
