Hi list, I've a problem in autoinstall process on opensuse 11.0. When the grub package will be install, the installation frozen without error messages. The manual installation this ok. Hi, I copied the SLES 11 DVDs into a local directory (DVD2 first, then DVD1) and started an installation from NFS, just like I did with any SLES10 release before. The installation aborts with nfs://<server>/<path>/content: Invalid signature And with Alt+F3 I see the messages: loading file:/var/adm/mount/content -> content sha1 ... (some value) sha1 not checked loading file:/var/adm/mount/content.asc -> content.asc sha1... (some value) sha1 not checked nfs://<server>/<path>/content: signature check failed The sha1 values printed there are the values that I get when I apply sha1sum manually to content{.asc}. So what's wrong here? The content file is exactly the copy from the DVD with the same checksum. But why does the installer (linux and initrd from boot/x86_64/loader/ on the same DVD) think the sha1sum is wrong? cu, Frank -- Dipl.-Inform. Hi, Ist there a non-documented truly non-interactive option of zypper? I need to run it from an Autoyast postinstall script to perform updates after we have localized the software repositories. Guten Tag, Wir setzen Autoyast für das Aufsetzen von Desktopsystemen und Servern ein. Momentan übergeben wir direkt eine Autoyast Datei an den Suse Installer, was allerdings den Nachteil hat, dass wir keine Rules verwenden können. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit ein gemeinsames Profilverzeichnis für alle Profile zu haben, ein bestimmtes Profil bei der Installation zu benutzen und trotzdem die rules auswerten zu lassen? Ideal wäre es, wenn man bei der Installation ein Dropdown Menü hätte, wo man direkt das Zielprofil anwählen könnte. To make you curious, here are some numbers I have measured for the time to install a system: kde4 system with RPMs only - 19 minutes kde4 system with pre defined images -13 minutes kde4 system with a kiwi image - 3,5 minutes (!) http://ugansert.blogspot.com/2009/03/imagine-autoyast.html The feature is experimental but available in openSUSE 11.1/SLES11 It's not documented and not fully supported yet but nice to play with. [opensuse-autoinstall] installation source not at root of DVD?

Hi, I have a question regarding installation from CD/DVD. Is it possible to have the installation source at a DVD where the product files do not exist at the root of the DVD? My DVD layout looks like that: /boot, /grub, /inst/media/sles/10/sp2/i586/CD1, /inst/media/oes2/sp1/i586/CD1 I'm using grubs eltorito stage to make the image bootable - that works fine with network installation sources. The content of SLES10-SP2 DVD is on the media below /inst/media/sles/10/sp2/i586/CD1 I tried install=cd:/hdc path=/dev/hdc/inst/media/sles/... install=cd:/dev/hdc patch=/dev/hdc/inst/media/sles/... ... But it didn't work. I'm wondering if it is possible to accomplish this task at all. /dev/hdc as path argument seems wrong for me cause /dev/hdc is a block device which should be mounted. I'm also thinking about mounting the DVD via exec parameter at bootloader prompt and point the installation source to the mountpoint. But at first I would like to hear your advises. Hello list, I'm trying to generate a profile (control file) from a template. The item to be modified is the IP address. I tried to model after the xslt script mentioned on http://www.suse.com/~ug/autoyast_doc/CreateProfile.XSLT.html but since we're dealing with a config:type="list" in case of <interfaces>, I get only one <interface> upon subsequent applying of the xslt. Does someone have an example xslt-file which achieves the desired? [opensuse-autoinstall] pattern deselection

Hi all, when i deselect a pattern in yast2 (SLES10-SP2), all its packages get marked as "auto-delete". If a package has any dependencies to other packages it gets not removed, which seems reasonable. But it seems that also a dependency to another "auto-delete" packages prevents it from being deleted. Is this a correct behaviour? You can test it, by installing and removing the "print_server" pattern of SLES 10. After deinstallation, the packages "cups" and "foomatic-filter" remain.
