[opensuse-packaging] Improving Maven support on openSUSE

Hi everyone ! I recently asked to Andreas how I could help in maven support enhancement in openSUSE and he suggested me to open a thread in the packaging maillinglist, and in particular with people who have been in touch with Andreas about maven. Actually, I really need to get maven officially included in openSUSE, like Java project maintainers I suppose. I think we could begin by making the following things : 1. Doing a list of maven packages and dependencies we need to achieve Maven inclusion 2. Doing a TODO list, like the one which has been done for the python > python3 equivalent providing 4. Creating our own project we could be involving into 3. Assigning the tasks to volunteers. What do you think about that ? I'm waiting for further ideas. Regards. Hi, After recent golang-packaing update there appeared an issue. go-spew (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:languages:go/golang-github-da…) produces a package which contains /usr/lib64/go/contrib/pkg/linux_amd64/github.com/davecgh/go-spew/spew.a At the same time, Sirupsen-logrus for instance (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:languages:go/golang-github-Si…) stops building due to the failure: [ 224s] /usr/lib64/go/pkg/tool/linux_amd64/link -o $WORK/github.com/Sirupsen/logrus/hooks/syslog/_test/syslog.test -L $WORK/github.com/Sirupsen/logrus/hooks/syslog/_test -L $WORK -L /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/go/pkg/linux_amd64 -w -extld=gcc -buildmode=exe $WORK/github.com/Sirupsen/logrus/hooks/syslog/_test/main.a [ 226s] # testmain [ 226s] /usr/lib64/go/pkg/tool/linux_amd64/link: cannot open file /usr/lib64/go/pkg/linux_amd64/github.com/davecgh/go-spew/spew.a: open /usr/lib64/go/pkg/linux_amd64/github.com/davecgh/go-spew/spew.a: no such file or directory For some unknown reason, golang linker looks for the spew.a in the wrong place (note there is no contrib in path). [opensuse-packaging] Texlive: where these strings come from?

Hi, I updated texlive 2015, and it builds fine. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:MargueriteSu:branches:Publishi… now I have TWO things that I can't understand: 1. In its specfile: %define texlive_version 2015 %define texlive_previous 2014 %define texlive_release 20150521 %define texlive_noarch 97 %define texlive_source texlive-20150521-source Version: %{texlive_version}.%{texlive_release} Release: 0 But the generated RPMs looked like this: https://build.opensuse.org/package/binaries/home:MargueriteSu:branches:Publ… texlive-2015.20150521-20120597.4.i586.rpm I think the "-20120597" prefix for release number comes from nowhere. I grep everywhere from its package source (tarball,patches, specfile, changelog), there's even no "201205" existing. Where can I find and change it? 2. %package a2ping-bin Version: %{texlive_version}.%{texlive_release}.svn27321 the "svn27321". As I know, the textlive-20150521-source doesn't have any .svn directory or file telling which svn the source is. What's more interesting, different sub-packages have different svn numbers :-( Where does these svn numbers come from? Hi, I packaged ocserv in network:vpn and I wanted to submit it to Factory. Dominique suggests me to raise this topic. I wrote the instruction in README.SUSE before: #### Shutdown SUSEFirewall2 through YaST Because I don't know how to convert iptables rules to SUSEFirewall2 ones. If you can help me, please fork this package and submit back. #### Set iptables rules sudo /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 9000 -j ACCEPT sudo /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport 9001 -j ACCEPT sudo /sbin/iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.1.0/24 -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE sudo /sbin/iptables -A FORWARD -s 192.168.1.0/24 -j ACCEPT The 9000/9001 ports, IP range 192.168.1.0/24 are default ones, you can change them in /etc/ocserv/ocserv.conf Warning: Your eth0 may not exist, you can ifconfig -a to find yours. #### Enable IP forward sudo echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward It doesn't live after reboot. ===================================================== How can I achieve the same result without shutting SuSEFirewall2 down? Dear opensuse-users, when adding the latest systemd release from: https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=openSUSE%3AFactory&pack… In the install manually section the following command is provided: zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:Factory/standard/openSUS… After adding it a File '/repositories/openSUSE:Factory/standard/openSUSE:Factory.repo' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/' error message occurs. Pointing with a web browser to that url will also return a object not found error. What is the right url for fetching e.g. the latest systemd release from the factory repository? [opensuse-packaging] how can I stop osc from messing up my spec file?

Hi, I've been struggling to check in the spec file for OpenImageIO, every time I check it in a conditional: %ifarch ppc ppc64 -DNOTHREADS %endif gets moved from the cmake build flags to the bottom of the %build section. I superseded my request to factory and uploaded the spec file via web ui but now something else has changed and the build fails. What is doing this and what can I file a bug against? Hi, I was just looking at my package blender and it no longer builds in Factory or Tumbleweed due to various boost requirements failing in my other package OpenImageIO. What's changed in boost?
