[opensuse-packaging] Dropping myself as maintainer for mysql-workbench tool

I've drop myself as maintainer for mysql-workbench package. Hi packagers, I try to update ParaView to the latest version 4.3.1 but I get the following error: [ 4565s] error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found: [ 4565s] /usr/share/cmake/hdf5/libhdf5.settings [ 4565s] [ 4565s] [ 4565s] RPM build errors: [ 4565s] Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found: [ 4565s] /usr/share/cmake/hdf5/libhdf5.settings What should I add to the %files section to get rid of it? [opensuse-packaging] Patches naming (include source version?)

Hello. What is the rule for naming patches? I mean including or not a version of a source in the name. Following https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Patches_guidelines#Patch_naming "Do NOT use %{version} macro in Patch: line, specify the version by hand." A patch will look like foo-1.2.3-fix_something.patch. Is it still valid? I see a lot of patches without a version in their names. What is the right way? I prefer to have a version in a patch name to know that foo-1.2.4-fix_something.patch is applied for "foo = 1.2.4" and, possibly, for "foo > 1.2.4". And it isn't applied for "foo < 1.2.4". -- WBR Kyrill

Hi packagers, is somewhere a page where people can raise awareness of new releases that are not yet packaged? For example there is a new Doxygen and ParaView version. Probably those capable building the packages are not aware of the new versions. The question is, how should we workaround the issue. We can link brp-check-suse-13.2+git20140829.9539e1d, whereever the issues occur, and Preinstall it in the project, but that reveals other inconsistencies: it builds for 12.3, 13.1, fails for 12.2/i586, but succeeds for 12.2/x86_64. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:frispete:python/brp-check-suse Fix brp-25-symlink and release updated packages. [opensuse-packaging] Style issues and OBS rejects

HI! Occassionally I'm trying to bring up some updates into OBS, sometimes even fixing things here and there. But I do not consider myself to be an openSUSE packager. Therefore I find it always quite strange that submitted requests are just declined asking me to fix further things which were done by others. Since this is a side activity done in my very rare spare time I consider to give up submitting updates to openSUSE repo upstreams. I simply cannot fix all style issues others left behind and which were not caused by my changes. Ciao, Michael.
