Hello, I need some help to figure out what's happening when I try to compile llvmpy (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:ocefpaf/python-llvmpy) The error message I'm getting is: llvmpy/include/llvm_binding/extra.h:19:28: fatal error: llvm/IRBuilder.h: No such file or directory However, llvm-devel was added to the "BuildRequires" and the IRBuilder.h file is locate at the /usr/include/llvm. I do not have enough experience to figure out what's wrong here. Hi, everyone, when I compiling eucalyptus , I met a problem here, it says some symbol not found. https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/home:intijk:eucalyptus/eu… '-laxis2_axiom' provides the symbol 'axiom_node_get_parent' '-lxml2' provides 'xmlDocGetRootElement' The .so file is located under ${_libdir}(/usr/lib or /usr/lib64), and my local compilation success, why it failed on obs? [opensuse-packaging] php-devel vs. php5-devel vs. php53-devel

While updating XCache to a new major version to gain PHP 5.4 support, etc.[1] I encountered problems building it for some SLES versions. I added an SLE_11_SP3 repo to my branch project to test building for SP3 (SLE 11 SP2 PHP extensions packages are no good for SP3, see [2]), and the build failed with "nothing provides php5-devel". Indeed, the php53-devel package in SP3 (also SP2) provides php-devel and php53-devel but not php5-devel. Unlike SP2, there is no more php5-devel package (which was 5.2.x in <= SP2). I had previously made a 'php53-dummy-deps' RPM that depends on php53-devel and provides php5-devel in order to more easily do local builds of packages like this against php53-devel from SP2, but that's probably not a workable solution for the OBS. In any case I decided to upload it to my home project now in case it might be useful to others [3]. Back to xcache... I tried changing its BuildRequires from php5-devel to 'php-devel', since that's provided by every distro. That worked everywhere except for SLE_11_SP2, where it failed with "unresolvable: have choice for php-devel", because that's provided by *both* php5-devel and php53-devel. Ugh. I solved this by adding a Prefer: php5-devel line to my meta prjconf à la [4] but I don't know how that would translate to the OBS server:php:extensions repo. Also, all the extensions there have BuildRequires: php5-devel to every single one would have to be changed to php-devel... what a mess! This would've been much easier if Novell/SUSE made php53-devel provide 'php5-devel' but I guess they had their reasons, maybe to avoid the ambiguous provides issue in SP2. Perhaps there's a better solution with osc meta (or similar) to work around this? prjconf Substitute looks promising but the %sles_version macro not changing with different SPs makes that problematic. I am new to the open build service. Looks very promising. [opensuse-packaging] RFC: Haskell Guidelines change

Dear members of the package guidelines team and Haskell packagers, I prepared a draft proposal for revised Haskell packaging guidelines at http://en.opensuse.org/User:Ptrommler/Haskell The new packaging is a port of Fedora's latest packaging to openSUSE. The new packaging is easier to read by reviewers as it uses fewer macros and tags or entire spec file sections are not generated by macros anymore. With the proposed guidelines spec files will be longer but with cabal-rpm we have a tool that does most of the work for us, even the tedious list of BuildRequires, by generating a spec file from Haskells cabal specification. To see more examples check out devel:languages:haskell:platform on OBS, which contains the packages needed for Haskell Platform 2013.2.0.0. I am looking forward to your feedback! I forwarded your request to the list soon and I would provide any help to the packager who wants to try. Note that most packaged frameworks (symfony, horde) have one package per component/library, not a "one for all" rpm like for zend1. [opensuse-packaging] Fonts in Subdirectories

Hi, after updating my system to 12.3, I noticed several new(?) changes regarding fonts. Usually, TrueType fonts are installed under /usr/share/fonts/truetype. However, LaTeX (or Texlive) handles it differently: they create a separate subdirectory in /usr/share/fonts, for example: /usr/share/fonts/texlive-amiri /usr/share/fonts/texlive-amsfonts /usr/share/fonts/texlive-avantgar /usr/share/fonts/texlive-bookman [...] If I remember correctly, in former times these were all stored somewhere in /usr/share/texmf/fonts/. Another font (cantarell) deviates from the definied directory too. I guess, there must be a reason for this. [opensuse-packaging] Libclutter and Gala for Pantheon

Good day, I've recently attempted to repackage Pantheon, Elementary's Desktop Environment, for openSUSE 12.3. I was able to get almost everything to work by simply using Alien and installing the correct dependencies in the correct order. However, Gala, the window manager, wasn't working well at all. Gala was showing an erroneous rendering of animations. As such I've decided to port the libclutter that Elementary uses. Gala worked admirably well with that version of libclutter, but it was at the expense of the GNOME Desktop, GDM, and Lightdm. They couldn't use Elementary's Libclutter and I had to reinstall openSUSE completely to get rid of it (unisntalling and reinstalling didn't work). Zypper counts Elementary's Libclutter as a downgrade of the one provided by openSUSE 12.3. They use libclutter-1.0.so.0 and libclutter-gtk-1.0.so.0. My coding skills are too poor to port Gala to a higher level of Libclutter and I can't figure out how to make Gala use an exclusive version of Libclutter while the rest of the GNOME Desktop would use the default one. The majority of Pantheon apps work very well under openSUSE and thanks to the GNOME:Ayatana repo, we have most of the dependencies. Plank has already been ported and packaged by an openSUSE user. I was able to get Noise, Pantheon-files, Slingshot-launcher, and Wingpanel working. If someone is interested in repackaging Gala for openSUSE, we can have another desktop environment available.
