[opensuse-packaging] building php5 debuginfo rpms

How do you build the php5 debuginfo packages? I've amended to the php5.spec to build a specific extension that I need to debug. And the build is fine. I get 55 rpms (including the 2 I have added) but there are no debuginfo or debugsource rpms. I've tried searching for info on how to generate the debuginfo packages but to no avail. What is the secret? [opensuse-packaging] build-compare isn't executed?

See https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=x86_64&package=libSO… Between ... creating baselibs ... saving built packages there should be the build-compare output. It's not specific of my repo. [opensuse-packaging] "Supplements: packageand" documentation?

The xine package contains a "Supplements: packageand(libpulse0:libxine1)" line that I think I saw documented somewhere before. But right now Google doesn't helps me... [opensuse-packaging] No rebuild triggered in factory when a lilypond build dependency was updated.

Hi, I've just finished fixing a lilypond documentation build problem caused by the update of texlive-bin and had a look at factory lilypond, I was surprised to see that it hadn't rebuilt and failed yet. [opensuse-packaging] Renaming of libvorbis to libvorbis0 problem in multimedia:libs

A large number of packages in multimedia:libs have been broken due to renaming of libvorbis to subpackage libvorbis0. The package contains libvorbisenc.so.2.0.8, libvorbisfile.so.3.3.4 and libvorbis.so.0.4.5 so IMHO should have either been left alone or split into 3 sub packages. I've tried splitting it but it doesn't solve the problem caused by the rename which is libsndfile now requires both libvorbis0 and libvorbis for 11.3 downwards causing a problem. I'm now going to bed, can somebody help to resolve this mess. I've reverted libvorbis back to current factory which I forwarded when accepting the submit request of this package. My solution is to revert the package back to libvorbis but now this may break factory. In future I'm not going to forward other peoples requests to factory. [opensuse-packaging] Tumbleweed "vendor" question

Ok, I'm going to have a number of questions about packaging stuff and obs while I figure out how Tumbleweed is to properly work. Hopefully this is the correct list for it, if not, please point me in the correct location. Anyway, I have openSUSE:Tumbleweed set up and are trying to figure out both the workflow and how users are going to handle it. I have it populated with only 3 packages at the moment, and it's building against 11.3. I added the repo to zypper, but when trying to do an update on a package that I know is newer, I get the following error from zypper: There is an update candidate for 'git', but it is from a different vendor. Use 'zypper install git-1.7.3.2-43.1.i586' to install this candidate. Now I don't really want to have to have every user do this by hand for each package that gets added to tumbleweed, so how do I get this to be automatically overridden due to the fact that the 'git' package really is newer, and it should be installed. Note, when running 'zypper dup' it says that there is nothing to do, I only get the above message when explicitly asking that git be installed, eventhough git is installed. [opensuse-packaging] A strange rpmlint warning

Hi, ktorrent had a "Requires: oxygen-icon-theme" which brought up an rpmlint warning about non versioned branding package so I added : "Requires: oxygen-icon-theme = %{_kde_platform_version}" which didn't make the warning go away so I changed it to : "Requires: oxygen-icon-theme-%{_kde_platform_version}" which brought up the warning : ktorrent.x86_64: W: suse-branding-specific-branding-req oxygen-icon-theme-4.5.85 bla What does this mean? Hi i want to know if i install the kernel-* package for ppc64 is ok for install glibc-devel because its require the linux-kernel-headers or if i must install the kernel-source and modify the spec. Sorry for my english and thanks for your help florian

[opensuse-packaging] sysvinit provides

Hi, I just submitted a new rpm, that will automatically add provides for init scripts, so that if you have an init script in your package that insserv is complaining about, then you can now add PreReq: sysvinit(network) sysvinit(syslog) and then insserv will find the needed modules. I also fixed some packages I'm going to send submit requests for. After that I propose we make the insserv calls FATAL again to avoid regressions. Of course this only affects packages calling insserv in their %post scripts. If you provide an init script without enabling it from the package, you will have to rely on users reporting the problem.
