Bug 426236 is affecting the GNOME team really badly - it has gotten to the point where we can't check out or commit packages anymore. This is a serious problem in light of the Beta 3 deadline. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426236 We'd really appreciate some assistance from the autobuild team on this before friday. In the meantime, what's the preferred workaround? [opensuse-packaging] RPM bug when updating or something I should know?

When Packman updated libcaca from 0.99beta14 to 0.99beta15 with zypper up -t package I found that I had some missing files ("rpm -ql" was different from real filesystem). Reinstalling the package (zypper in -f) fixed the problem. Since I don't have the old package to retest I can't say exactly what happened. Now even if I use openSUSE 11.0 x86_64 I have found 10.3 i586 versions of these packages (well, not exactly the sames, the beta15 package is newer than the one I had the first problem with). http://www.filefactory.com/file/3a10d3/n/libcaca-0_9_0_99_beta14-0_pm_0_i58… http://www.filefactory.com/file/e2a52c/n/libcaca0-0_9_0_99_beta15-0_pm_5_i5… >From the reports at http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/multimedia/396626-mplayer-error-lat… the problem seems to happen also with Smart. Now I install the beta14 package and "rpm -qV libcaca" doesn't complains. Then I update directly with rpm (rpm -U libcaca0-0.9_0.99.beta15-0.pm.5.i586.rpm) and libcaca (beta14) is removed to install libcaca0 (beta15). But "rpm -qV libcaca0" returns: ....L... /usr/lib/libcaca.so.0 ....L... /usr/lib/libcucul.so.0 A "rpm -i --replacepkgs libcaca0-0.9_0.99.beta15-0.pm.5.i586.rpm" fixes the problem. [opensuse-packaging] build failures due to 02-check-gcc-output

Hi, Recently we discovered that the 02-check-gcc-output post build script didn't complain about some kind of static buffer overflows anymore(?). For better or for worse the affected code will be aborted by glibc at runtime therefore hits you at unexpected time. So the build check was fixed and indeed causes failures in a few packages. Please fix them, the program will not work. The problem fortunately is easy to spot and fix. Affected code looks like this: char buf[128]; fgets(buf, 256, file); The fix is to just pass the correct size to the function call. Hi ! We fixed most of the build errors/factory-checks in the "hamradio"-repo. Hey guys, would it be possible for someone to create a package for lirc the includes the new updates for the MS MCE keyboard and mouse. None of the other distro's have one. [opensuse-packaging] HAL: cleanup of deprecated keys/properties

Hi, with the next HAL package (v0.5.12) for STABLE/Factory (including the next beta) some keys/properties get removed from HAL because they are deprecated and marked since more than 6 months in the SPEC to get removed on 2008-05-03. The effected keys/properties are: - portable_audio_player.access_method - portable_audio_player.type Both keys are replaced by: - portable_audio_player.access_method.[drivers, protocols] Check the HAL spec for more information. Please check your HAL consuming applications (incl. may shipped FDI files) and updated them if needed to prevent bugreports/problems with the new HAL package. [opensuse-packaging] Reviewing submissions in the OBS

Hi, A few days ago, I learnt that submissions done via the OBS have to be reviewed, with an explicit entry in .changes (unless you have a suse or novell address). I can understand this -- although I'm not really sure I agree -- but the problem I have is that I never heard of this policy before. Is it documented somewhere? [opensuse-packaging] "/opt/yuitest/bin/<foo>" is not allowed anymore in FHS 2.2.

Hi! I compiled some yast/libzypp module with the prefix /opt/yuitest because I don't want to exchange the installed versions and also not use /usr/local. Repo: home:dl9pf:yuitest-svn Now I get a bunch of errors like this in Factory. Is there a way to disable this warning/error ?
