[opensuse-packaging] Newbie trying to figure out how y2pmbuild sets up the build environment

Hi, I am trying to create my first RPM and have a bit problems understanding the setup of the build environment as described in the build tutorial: http://en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Build_Tutorial#Configuration I read the explanation about how to use the y2pmbuild tool and it talks about that the y2pmbuild tool will setup up the build environment at a given place. I looked in the file: /etc/y2pmbuild/dists_common and it sets: add_sources="suse" url_suse="file:/srv/ftp/pub/suse/$BUILD_DIST/CD1/" >From the description in the build tutorial it sounded like y2pmbuild will somehow copy the necessary files of a distribution there, but when I call y2pmbuild with my spec file, it looks like it is expecting the distribution already being there. My question is now what I need to copy there. As the path information has the $BUILD_DIST option, it sounds like only the respective distribution needs to be copied there. So if I build for x86_64, can I just copy the whole content from the x86_64 folder of my suse 10.1 DVD into the 10.1-x86_64/CD1 folder? Thanks for any help. Hello, Am I on the good list..?? i've installed kopete 0.12.1 by http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/ but jingle is not enable for sound by jabber, why? See you!!! [opensuse-packaging] MALLOC_CHECK_ and MALLOC_PERTURB_

Hi, As proposed by Ulrich Drepper and our Desktop Engineers I have added MALLOC_CHECK_=2 and MALLOC_PERTURB_=B to the default shell environment in Factory. For MALLOC_PERTURB_ see here: http://udrepper.livejournal.com/11429.html MALLOC_CHECK_=2 will abort the program on any malloc error. So just in case you see strange errors ;) We will remove it before 10.2 again. (It is in aaa_base:/etc/profile.d/malloc-debug.sh if you are curious.) [opensuse-packaging] suse_update_desktop_files question

im try to build banshee rpm but suse_update_desktop_file: invalid option -- C error: Unknown option ? in suse_update_desktop_file() error occour. when im try to run suse_update_desktop_file from cli it works fine. what im missing up? thanks
