What is the layout of a SLES10 installation server with Service Pack? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I sort of asked this question a week or so a go but didn't see any responses, so I thought that I would ask again, trying to be a little clearer this time :-) When trying to achieve a minimal install using AutoYast I noticed that both required (Prq) packages and the suggested (Prc) packages are being installed for the Base pattern. Is there a way to get AutoYast to only install the required packages and not the suggested packages? Uwe's response to an earlier question suggested removing unwanted packages using "<remove-packages>". There are 121 packages in the suggested list (+ what ever dependencies they are pulling in). Would this mean that these are all installed and then removed? [opensuse-autoinstall] How do I achieve a Minimal Install?

My point of reference is a Kickstart with a %packages --nobase, which for Centos 4 x86_64 gives me an 88 package system. So far I have a working autyast install with <software> <patterns config:type="list"> <pattern>base</pattern> </patterns> <packages config:type="list"> <package>yum</package> </packages> </software> which gives me a 396 package system. Only 300 odd package to get rid of :-) What is the right approach here. Do I have to figure out my own list of packages (i.e. don't use patterns) or is there some option that I haven't found yet. Looking back through the list archives there is a suggestion that the underlying yast tools are going to pull in what is defined in base pattern no matter what! Is that correct? I feel that I am missing something here. [opensuse-autoinstall] Running "rug" from inside AutoYaST post install script?

Hi, We are trying to run "rug" during a SLES10 AutoYaST installation to install some additional packages, i.e. we have a ZenWorks Linux Management 7 server in which we have a package catalog with additional rpms and then in the AutoYaST post-install script we do the below. You will note how we install some rpms with the "rpm" command and that works fine. And some rpms we install using "rug" command and that fails with error messge: "Transaction failed: A Transaction is already in progress." Can anyone tell me what we have to hit to make rug work during the post-install script? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
