SLES 9 ISO mount structure, not sure?

This is my SuSe 9 mount structure; I get all the way to the point of choosing software and I get the following; any clues please and TIA! netsetup

Hello, I use the netsetup=1 flag in isolinux.cfg and I works well during installation. But after the installation, when I used ifconfig I see an address in ipv6! Moreover if a reboot my machine, the hostname is not set. Is there a problem with dhcp ? Did I missed a package (it's a minimal installation) ? Thanks, Pierre

Installing Additional Software

Hello, i'm working under SuSE 9.2. I've made a Config-File with Yast2, started an DHCP-Server, NFS-Server und TFTP-Server. I run Autoyast with PXE-Boot and it works very well. But now I wan't to install a Not-SuSE-Package auomaticaly after the SuSE-Installation is done. The rpm-File is at the same Path as the Suse-RPMs are (on a NFS-Share) How do I setup up this? Can I do this in Yast too? I'm not good in XML so a graphical Solution would be nice. Partitioning_advanced and 9.2

Hi, We used the partitining_advanced feature successfully on 9.1 and sles9 to reuse the existing fstab and keep some local data. On 9.2, with the same Syntax in the controlfile, we coudn't get this to work. According to the logfile the fstab is read correctly but it seems that the configuration Is reset after. bind mount inside <partitioning> element possible?

Hi, i would like to have /export/admins mounted over /admins with the kernels bind mount option. Can i achieve this with some options inside <partitioning> element, or is this only possible via script? Regards, Sam

Printing, tuning cups.conf

Dear List, I wanted to make use cups in our network with BrowseProtocol=slp in /etc/cups/cups.conf on the clients. I made a small printing section in my script which looks as follows and worked fine to those host which i can broadcast directly with ipp. <printer> <cups_installation config:type="symbol">server</cups_installation> <default></default> <printcap config:type="list"/> <server_hostname></server_hostname> <spooler>cups</spooler> </printer> Now I can imagine of three ways of accomplishing the wished a) Let the printer section as before and modify /etc/cups/cups.conf via <files> afterwards b) Let the printer section as before and modify /etc/cups/cups.conf via <scripts> afterwards c) Let the printer section as before and modify /etc/cups/cups.conf via <sysconfig> afterwards d) Do my own printer-setup with <files> and/or <scripts> Maybe there are more possibilities or even I missed some trick with makes it possible to have all configuration in <printer>. But for a)-c) is the order of execution relevant, i.e. whether <printer> gets done before <files>. Can anybody say something about it? I'm not really used to DTDs now. Greetings, David

I have a profile which succesfully installed SuSE under 9.0 and 9.1 happily enough. Trying to update it for 9.2 however, it's refusing the set the root password automatically - no matter what I put in the users section, it seems, it still prompts me for a new root password (and then goes on to ask me about the firewall too). This is a bit hopeless for a hands-free install, which is what I want. I have tried precisely the suggestion of Anas Nashif, but without result. Any further ideas? Thanks. John

Deactivate kernel-modules during installation (noprobe)

Hi Is there a way to specify that some device-drivers should not be loaded during installation? Specifically, when installing a file-server with autoyast, it would be very nice if autoyast was able to reformat the internal disks, but leave the external RAIDs alone. Sometimes the external RAID-devices show up before the internal ones, and since the number of disks available on the RAIDs may change over time it's a bit scary to use a autoyast-file that uses disk 14 or whatever. On Red Hat this problem is solved by deactivating the FC-drivers during installation with the "noprobe" option. Is there a option for doing this with autoyast too?
