LVM

Hi, I have a problem with the lvm partitioning: When autoinstall try to partitionate the hard disk I get the following error: vgcreate -A n -s 4096k vgpool /dev/hda4 vgcreate -- ERROR "pv_read():read" reading physical volumes I use the actual version of the yast2-auto modules and there are no existing partitions on the hard disk. If I start fdisk on another session I can see that the partition is created, but the pvscan command bring up the same error. vgscan is still working. Can anybody help me ? I need to replace the the value "vga=normal" with "vga = 791" in the lilo.conf during the unattended installation with YAST1. How can this be done? Thank you, W. Beck

Problem with NFS-Install solved

I had the problem that the xml-configfile wasn' t found allthoug nfs worked fine. First working workaround was to restart the nfsserver and to enter the location of the xml-file again. My solution now: I stored the xml-configfile in an own direcotry config. Since I ve done that it works perfect. I don t know if the problem is caused by Autoyast or by the nfs-server. i.A. Problem with manual package selection (Apache is installed alltho ug not selected)

I try to auto-install a really small system. So I copied an original selection file and removed some files (for example lvm) and added some others (for example openssh). The auto-installation worked fine but I found for example the apache installed. I ve no idea where AutoYast found an information to install apache and comanche. Any hints? Problem with AutoYast via HTTP

Starting Autoyast with all parameters for http starts and recieves the xml config-file. But than the installation stops because the installers asks for the cd. This doesn't happen when installing using nfs. Hints? i.A. Partitioning Problem setting up 3 partitions

Hello, I have been trying to get partitioning to work without success. I have installed the patch file yast2-module-autoinst-2.5.27rc3-0.noarch.rpm and I still get the error: "fdisk failed The disk has an unsupported partition table. Repartition disk /dev/hda" Prior to this message - a brief message appears and then is replaced by the for mentioned. It reports that /boot requires (1.8 mb) more space and / requires (10gb) more space. The drive has a 18.2 gb capacity. The drive has a previous install of SuSE 8.0 on it. I have tried the "auto" settings. I have put in static values for size for each but still get the same error each time. Can anyone help me with this? Problem with Autoinstall and NFS

I try to make an autoinstall via nfs. Autoinstall using a CD and a floppy for the information file works fine. Trying to install vi nfs fails at the following point Looking for a braille display... Trying to cnnect via serial interface /dev/ttyS0. On our terminal computer start the user interface with y2base "serial(115200):/dev/ttyS0" qt -geometry 800*600 -style=platinium or (thean the same with ttyS1) or start the Yast2 menu by typing "yast2" and select yast2/Remote install Any hints?
