Fixed bunch of things in the text - links and stuff. Should be quite OK now.
I also updated the sponsorship brochure with a bit of text on the co-
location and the logo's.
The banners on top are very high, looks a bit dis-proportionate to me - but
I'm no artist :D
Those who are, pls check http://conference.opensuse.org and give feedback
(if possible in the form of merge requests?!?)
I also turned the logo into an oSC poster:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/poster.png
It needs to be done properly, any of our artists up for that?!? :D

Jos

Andi has made a (for now) final version of the poster. It is in Github - for
anyone who thinks he/she can improve it further :D
Link to a small render:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/Conference%20600dpi%20.5cm%20bleed.png
(I did make 2 adjustments: add links & fix date & add a little text, and
resize logo's and the whole thing to add some bleed. None of that is moved
to github yet, maybe Andi would prefer to do that himself... Or anyone else
up for doing a better job that I could?)
Andi promised to make a logo next. I also would like to ask him to put the
sources on-line for this one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/oSC_Logo2_anditosan.png
my gf likes it a lot and tells me we should make a poster out of that one,
too :D
So maybe we can have two posters, one showing the 'full' event, the other
talkin' about the openSUSE part.
thanks all,
/Jos
PS I will now go and print ~10 posters for LinuxTag. We can get feedback
from visitors and possibly adjust the posters based on that :D
I slept horribly bad but woke up dreaming about something weird. Somehow, I
got up, and made this in about 2 hours of work:
http://susepaste.org/17599453
It is in github. Thoughts? I think I'll print a few for LinuxTag... :D

Heya all,
I'll be printing a number of nice, glossy brochures for artists using
openSUSE. If this works out we can improve on it and do something more with
the concept of having non-openSUSE projects endorsing us at our booths.
But for now, I have added 2 openSUSE pages to the last pages of the whole
document (below a cut-down version of the document). I have text, images -
and even a quote from the Krita maintainer suggesting artists that openSUSE
is the best out there :D
What is less good is that my design skills - or lack there-of - are very
visible. last two pages will be the inside- and outside of the last page of
the brochure (it's a 24 page small book, a4 size). I need somebody to make
them look pretty. They can be redesigned any way anyone of you see fit...
Anyone willing to make this look a bit better? Again, JUST care about the
*last two pages*. it would even be fine to send me a PDF or even image with
just the last 2 pages as output back - I can then do the change myself on
the original document (which is 50 MB, hence this smaller one).
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/about-krita-oS.odt
It would be nice to have it sometime this week... :D
Thanks,
Jos

Heya all,
As the subject says - I've spend a number of hours working diligently
on the website. It is not there yet but can be, soon. The location
page needs work on hotels, public transport and such and we need links
to LinuxDays and the Gentoo Mini Summit website (even if it is just a
static page for both, SOMETHING should go up ASAP).
But I already did a lot, including putting the CfP page on there. The
artwork is also needed, of course - I hope anditosan or someone else
can make some time soon.
For now, I picked this as the 'final logo':
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/oSC_Logo_anditosan.png
Resized to 200x300. Obviously this ain't perfect, I hope we can come
up with a better one before Monday.
URGENT: We will also need adjusted versions (for our poster and the
site) of the Gentoo, SUSE Labs and LinuxDays logo tomorrow to be fit
in the 2x2 format poster, in SVG if possible - so I can print posters
for LinuxTag!!! Tomorrow means within 24 hours of this email - and
that's already pushing it as I need to go to a copy shop in time...
Michal, Pavol and anyone else on the local team: I need you to review
the current website and help make it ready for launch. As reminder,
it's in github:
https://github.com/shayonj/openSUSE-Conference
There is easy stuff there: a picture of the university, for example.
There is a number of 0-byte images in the static/images/conference
directory, these need to be replaced. Mailing them to me is fine if
you prefer that :D
We'll also need artwork for the rest of the website (but we can
probably re-use at least some of the summit stuff if we have no time).
Shayon, any chance you can deploy the changes I made in the last few
hours so we have an up-to-date thing to look at? I think it's time to
just replace the current link on conference.opensuse.org to the portal
with this :D
I will now work on updating Indico as far as I can.
Thanks all and please chime in!

Heya all,
As I said before I've been talking to Andres 'anditosan' Silva about
an openSUSE Conference logo. He pulled in Michael Fox and together
this is what they came up with after a number of itterations:
http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/h414/anditosan/?action=view¤t=oSC…
The idea behind it is:
- it's taken from Andy Warhol's famous Marilyn Monroe painting - new,
fresh, groundbreaking art. If you steal, steal from the best etc ;-)
Google it if you don't know it...
- we can use this incarnation as our oSC artwork. But imagine
replacing three of the four geeko's with a SUSE Labs logo, a Gentoo
logo and a LinuxDays logo. Of course in that style. Then we have
4-in-1, showing the unity yet unique-ness of our 4 events-in-one.
What do you think?
Please keep artwork and these gents in CC when discussing this.
/Jos

Splash Screens Contest
Hello artists and enthusiasts. We have been hard at working with our
artwork for 12.2 and now it is the time to style the distribution a
little more. Since the most of artwork that we have now is a
derivative of the official wallpaper created by Richard Brown and
Marcus Moeller there is a big portion of our styling done for the
distribution. However, there are a few other elements that need your
creative collaboration. Splash screens for a few programs that we use
can be greatly enhanced by your artistic inspiration.
Libre Office
GIMP
Scribus
Amarok
Calligra
Krita
Blender
The idea of this contest is that we can integrate the new chosen
wallpaper into these splash screens for the release of 12.2.
Guidelines
1. Use the default wallpaper as part of the image.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1363018/test3.jpg
2. Refer to the official artwork guidelines in how to use logos for
these different applications.
3. Restrict your creation to the sizes specified.
4. Provide the sources of your work if chosen.
5. Present/submit your artwork to http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Splashscreen
Sizes (please use a standard resolution of 75 dpi)
LibreOffice

GIMP

Only work the area at the bottom. Leave top as is.
Please click “Upload” to the left of the wiki page and then select
your files. As you finish the upload, please copy the
“File:image-title.png” since this is the name of the file to be
entered as you showcase your pictures in the wiki.
