[opensuse-artwork] artwork needed for Linux Magazine

Hey all, We need artwork for our media partnership with Linux Magazine, to be send to Florian Koenig (in CC). > - could you please send me your existing print ads (half page and > full page ad) so I can check if we can use them right away and > arrange them in the magazines where still possible? We have an conf add - it just needs to be adopted to fit in LM. We can do that & send it to Florian. Or, possibly - have a slogan on it which might attract people... After all, we aim to go beyond openSUSE, like last year, and we might put a slogan on there which makes that clear. Like 'go beyond one Linux' subtext: "openSUSE Conference 2011 will have developers from many linux distributions and projects to collaborate on the distribution technology of the future" In any case, we need this within 2 weeks, be it our current poster for oSC with or without the slogan, or something else. [opensuse-artwork] Base colour and code-name of release

Hi! I don't know if this has already been discussed and therefore is redundant, and I apologise in advance if that is the case, but I wanted to suggest that we base the artwork (esp., the wallpaper) of the release on the colour referred to by the release code-name. For 12.1 the code-name is "Asparagus" referring to the colour #87A96B [1]. [opensuse-artwork] Strategy voting reminder!

Hi all! In 3 days, the voting for the openSUSE strategy has to be done. We've had only about 1/5th of our members vote and that's not a lot. Now I know we don't have any way to check if members are still very active so maybe most are not. But if you are, please, vote! Find the last article from news.o.o here: http://bit.ly/iB2Dzh And a direct link to voting: http://bit.ly/kZaAC2 You just have to log in with your connect account and VOTE! For 2 years people have been asking 'what does openSUSE want'. We tried to put that in the strategy. Ok, it is not perfect, but that is because we didn't appoint someone to tell us what we want but because we *asked*. And then, yes, you get compromise. Anything bad in there is there either because you didn't speak up (tssss bad bad) or the majority disagreed with you. And that is how it SHOULD work. It is what sets us apart from the other major distributions - we have no dictator or 'steering group'. But democracy also comes with responsibilities - voting! I think that they can match pretty well. If not, we could find some good palettes to work with from kuler.adobe.com for example. It has very warm and nice colors. As far as what Nuno says about greens, I agree but not completely. The same visual problems happen to all the colors that you want to work with across different screens. It all depends on what kind of settings are placed on each device. Greens have, however, a chromatic signature that makes them somewhat weak, yet they can be worked out for better contrast. Hi all, There's a merge request for the artwork repository. I could try and get it merged but that'll take me half a day... Sorry but I try to keep away from git as much as I can, too complicated for this simple mind. Maybe someone with some git fu can take care of it? I didn't burn blu-ray for some time, and when trying to do so right now, I couldn't.
