Hello all
I have installed the new SuSE 10.1 AMD64 on my Asus laptop L5D. The SuSE 9.2
AMD64 is still running on it. I know that it was very difficult to use my
PCMCIA cards, but with the right tunning in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts and
config, all goes right, in particular with my OneCom modem. But with SuSE
10.1, I have a problem with this card : well recognized (according to
pccardctl) but no device given at boot system (NB :
the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts is the same as for the SuSE 9.2 and this last one
gives /dev/ttyS4 at boot). What do I have to do for getting a device ?
As for information, an Asus WL-107g wifi card is well recognized and the
module rt2500 (compiled from source CVS) is well loaded : it seems that there
is no problem with some PCcard.
Thansk for your answer

Do you know which of those options it is? I can tell it's
not the A7v600, but I'm not sure about the others.

Okay, it was just a thought.

No, the problem is that the powernow-k8 driver attempts
a transition and fails with the pending bit stuck.
I'll queue this for debug.

Ooh, this is why AMD doesn't recommend or support
overclocking.
If he's overclocking, well, I can't help him.

No, powernow-k8 should work if your machine doesn't
have problems.
Your machine has problems. Big problems. What are
you running on?
It looks like your machine is coming up in an illegal
state (fid 0xe with vid 0x2). The driver tries to
change the frequency, but the transition never
completes. The driver ends up on a locked state after
retrying the transition 100 times.
It also looks like there is something wrong with the
_PSS table that PN! uses to get the frequency and
voltage data.
If you don't have the latest BIOS, you may want to
upgrade and see if that fixes anything.

Dear Digiterati
We've spent several months modifying our legacy Solaris code (apps and
drivers) to work on Opteron motherboards using SuSE10.
Now the project manager said: Take a look at these other Intel motherboards
using the Celeron-D (341) (because they're cheaper)
http://indigo.intel.com/Syndication/DistributeModule.aspx?a=55&m=154&l=1&pp…
Googling around I read claims and counterclaims stating that neither AMD or
Intel has "true 64-bit", whatever that means.
Can anyone point me to an unbiased site that would explain the differences
clearly?
TIA & cheers

Have i to pass an option for powernow-k8 in the bootsequenz?
Thank you
