[opensuse-amd64] 10.2 64-bit and VMware tools

Hi! Just installed 32 bit version 10.2 under VMware (the free server) during weekend. Now I tried to install 64-bit version also. I ran into problems... has anybody done this? My problem is that I can not install the VMware tools. Rpm, installs, but the script doesn't work even as well as it did with 32-bits. (Again, I have installed, gcc, binutils, kernel sources, make.) When I run the vmware-config -script and it tries to compile vmhgfs, I get: "The directory of kernel headers (version @@VMWARE@@ UTS_RELEASE) does not match your running lernel (version 2.6.18.2-34-default). Even if the module were to compile succesfully, it would not load into the running kernel." "What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]" ... and answering with return to that just gets me back into the same loop. And as I can not get by that, the rest of the script isn't run either... and I can not get the VMware Tools installed. [opensuse-amd64] sendmail setup

I need to setup sendmail on old SuSE-9.0 for AMD64 installation on Opteron server. sendmail configuration must be extremally simple - for direct send of messages through smtp and for direct accepting of messages via smtp. Unfortunately the SuSE docs I found was very short, so I attempted to send or receive some mail via usual command-line MUA (nail). MTA was setted via Yast for permanent connection. But 1) I found in /var/log/mail that tcpwrapper reject the accepting of messages from particular mail server. There is no information in tcpd that it is used for sendmail also. Is it right that I must modify /etc/hosts.allow for sendmail ? And how ? 2) sending of mail don't works also - the message goes to dead.letter Sorry, what should I also add to suse-linux.m4 (or may be other file) ? [opensuse-amd64] Installing SUSE 10.1 x64 on a new machine

Hi, I have installed SUSE 10.1 on my new AM2 motherboard machine. I have had an unexpected problem: When I boot the machine up, it powers off. When the init starts, it tries to acheive level 5, but there is a yellow "warning" when it gets to that part of the boot, then it just sends an init 0 and the machine shuts down. I am a linux newbie, but i want to learn how to use it! Can anyone give me a hand? I've trawled the archives for a bit and found nowt!
