Perl module Crypt::Rijndael

Hi, I've just recently upgraded to a new 64bit machine. One of the last pitfalls I found was the installation of a perl program called "perl-strip" (which can display the contents of a synced file from a certain PalmOS program). This program uses the perl module Crypt::Rijndael. I was unsuccessful to install this module properly; "make"ing it works, but "make test" fails with "Failed 20/41 tests". I suppose this is the reason my "perl-strip" program does not work. Can anyone confirm Crypt::Rijndael does not install properly? Any suggestions on how to get it running again? USB ports not active

I've installed SuSE 9.2 on my AMD64 Compaq Presario R3000 notebook and my USB ports are not active. I plug in a mouse and its not recognized. I plug in my printer (an EPSON C-80), which works fine under my SuSE 9.1 on my desktop machine, and its not found when I search for it through YaST. They just don't seem to be active at all. I have three ports and they all seem to be detected by the YaST hardware detector. When I first got the laptop it had Windows XP on it of course and I booted into it first just to make sure that the computer was working in case it got broke in shipping or something. I, of course, immediately then installed SuSE on it. Unfortunately, I did not test the USB ports when in Windows, so I have no idea if they worked there or not and Compaq of course won't support me on this issue unless I have freakin' Windows installed. Any help would be appreciated because I've exhausted everything I know now. If I can't get this fixed I'm going to have to wipe my SuSE, install Windows, see if the ports work. If so, then switch to another distro and see if they work there. Thanks a bunch, Ken

Hello again One way of doing it is as follows: *Plug in the USB stick *Make sure it is shown in suseplugger (the circuit board icon in kde-panel). It should be under the "Disk" header. If it's not pull out the USB stick and plug it in again. Why it sometimes not work the first (or the secound or third) time I don't know. *Select the USB stick and press the adjust (or whatever it is called in english) button. Now the YaST partition program starts and you can delete your existing partition and create a new one. You shouldn't assign a mount point for the new partition. I don't know if automount works with other partitions than FAT32 but as you probably will move the USB stick between different computers and systems FAT32 is best for compability. (... is there an operational flash/shockwave player?

Hi folks: I noticed that while firefox is itself a 64 bit binary, that the libflash and other bits for flash/shockwave are currently 32 bit binaries. Or will I need to revert to a 32 bit compiled browser? Hi What kind of problem ?!! I had problem with SuSE not automounting my Sandisk Cruzer USB Stick. The problem was solved by deleting the original partition (FAT16 I think) and creating a FAT32 partition. In my case, I couldn't get it to work through any normal means. I swapped it out to my wifes box, and put her Sony in mine. Both drives work great in their chosen homes. Sorry the news wasn't better.

SATA DVD problem

Problem: SATA DVD writer not recognized/mounted by SUSE 9.2 Pro x86_64 System: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (nVidia nForce4 chipset, latest BIOS update) AMD Athlon64 3200 cpu 1 GB Crucial Ballistix ram 2 x 80 GB Western Digital SATA hard drive Plextor PX-716SA SATA DVD/CD writer 1 x 30 GB IDE hard drive Sony IDE CD writer - NOT using on-board RAID - hard drives and DVD writer connected to nForce4 SATA controller, not SiI3114R controller - get same problem no matter which SATA controller I use - get same problem whether IDE devices are attached or not Details: I had the well-documented problems getting my system to recognize the 9.2 dvd at all (booted from it OK, then it disappeared). I burned the FTP install CD and got 9.2 x86_64 that way. SATA hard drives are recognized just fine, able to install 9.2 x86_64 using Linux software RAID with no problems. The system just will not recognize the DVD writer, however. Could the problem just be the "sata_nv" module?
