Hello,
as some people might have seen in bugzilla comments [1], Janardhan is
the new maintainer of the wiki servers. Welcome!
Janardhan, I already have a task for you ;-)
Currently *.opensuse.org runs MediaWiki 1.17.x, which is outdated and
probably contains known security issues.
https://github.com/openSUSE/wiki (branch "mw_upgrade_1.19") and the
*stage.opensuse.org wikis already contain MediaWiki 1.19.3. Given that
1.19.3 was running on the staging server for months without problems,
I'd say it's finally time to upgrade the production wikis.
Note that in the meantime 1.19.7 is available (with additional fixes).
Our final goal should be to upgrade to this version, but I'd prefer to
deploy 1.19.3 first (to finally get 1.19.x without another delay) and
afterwards do the update to the latest 1.19.x version.
If you have questions or problems with the update, I'll happily help
you - just ask ;-)
Regards,
Christian Boltz

Hi,
I have made some changes to <https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Live_USB_stick>,
to try to cover the changes in USB stick creationg since 12.2.
Could some one plese accept the changes, or improve them if appropriate?
In the forums I have seen some people that try to apply instructions they
read elsewhere to "make the usb bootable", and in doing so, the usb is
rendered not bootable at all. You need none of those extra steps for
openSUSE.
Other people have found the instructions to "skip the isolinux step"
confusing.

Both i386 and x86_64 produce 404, aka, no current HTTP way to get the installation kernels and initrds to HTTP install, while http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1-Beta1/ has no installation trees. Going directly to
widehat.opensuse.org or gwdg.de via HTTP seems to work as expected.

@ admin
http://old-en.opensuse.org
Login form does not work.
Can you check why?
I have to put site notice so that every page tells that is old wiki.
Also, MediaWiki version is old.
I guess that we want to keep it up to date as long as it is online.

Hi,
there are some (bad) links to (obsolete) articles on the
https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Documentation. I'm preparing Czech
version of the portal, but I'm in doubt what have to be kept and what
not.
Examples:
- Migration to a new openSUSE version (latest 11.3)
- Siga (what? latest 11.3)
- Lessons for Lizards
- Linux in a Nutshell
