What happens if you stop the oracle daemon/database? I once installed an
Oracle database that did a similar thing. Immediatly after booting the
memory was almost 100% used - but after a shutdown of the Oracle
database the values dropped back to the normal ones, like the ones you
have on the second server.

Any news for evolution data server 1.0.2 that resolve the problem for
addressbook in Evolution ? (This is a problem of SuSE AMD 64 and not
for Evolution).
Tnx.
Dear List,
My printer the one I describe above,
Works fine in 9.2 when it is printing a .ps or .pdf
without pictures. When it finds a page which has more
than one picture it needs 2minutes per page. That
problem existed also in 9.1 not only with pictures
but for text as well! SuSE 9.0 didn't have such
problems with that printer! I tried to use the ppd
file /HP/Laserjet_1200-Postscript.ppd.gz which is the
recommended for SuSE 9.0 where printing
(text, pictures) works fine, instead of the
recommended under SuSE 9.2 which is the
/HP/Laserjet_1200-pxlmono.ppd.gz
but the performance of picture-printing didn't change!
Can somebody tell me what is wrong here?

Dear list,
Since SuSE 9.0 a very annoying feature has been added!
It may be useful for everything else than desktops out
of networks and stuff like that! This
is find -fstype nfs ...
While I am working and do some performance
measurements some daemon or something else I do not
know what activates the
#find -fstype nfs and something else! I do not
remember the exact syntax because I do not have that
laptop with me at the moment but believe me it is very
annoying becuase it happens all the time!
Could anybody let me know how I could shut it off once
and forall?
Thanks in advance!
Simeon!

Hello,
Running Suse 9.1 64 bit on Dual Opterons with 8 gigs of ram. We are getting
a stack dump to the terminal during boot-up and we want to find a dump file
or make the dump write to disk for later inspection. We can boot the server
with less ram so we are able to get a dump file if one were to exist. The
goal is to try to determine if the memory is bad (replaced the dimms, so it
doesn't appear to be memory) or if one of the CPU's is *bad* and only
becomes apparent when interacting with the extra memory.
Any advice as to how to create and find stack dump file is most welcome.
Thank you,
James
I have a Eurocom/Clevo D470K athlon64 laptop with ipw2200 wireless builtin.
I am running the latest Suse 9.2 Pro + IPW drivers available by YOU
the card is detected at boot time and the kernel modules are loaded in
lsmod | grep ipw
ipw2200 120084 0
firmware_class 11264 1 ipw2200
ieee80211 32484 1 ipw2200
ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet addr:192.168.10.33 Bcast:192.168.10.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
using my pcmcia 802.11b card i can connect to wireless networks without
issue.
However, I cannot get the builtin ipw2200 to connect to the network.
How do I find out if the upcoming 9.3 release will support the intel ipw2200 under the amd64
architecture? I have a spare partition I can load a recent 9.3 snapshot, if such is available for
testing?
Thanks

Hello
sorry if this is a repeat post, my previous podt did not do thru !
I have a HP zv5000 laptop with WUXGA (1920x1200 - GeForce 440 Go 64) LCD
display. My problem is that I cannot get the latest nvidia drivers to work.
After installing the driver, vertical lines
appear on the screen :-( . Even old drivers don't work. I'm using SUSE9.1 64
version(AMD64). Have tried with FC3 also, still no luck. I have followed all
the steps mention
in various forums on the net, but the dam drivers don't work.
I'm now wondering if the nvidia drivers
support WUXGA ? Did anybody on this forum have any such problem ?
