Hi there,
I still have to use openSUSE_Leap_42.3 on several of the systems I
maintain, so in the interest to have a common XFCE on all systems either
running 42.3 or 15.0, I'd like to keep the list of installed packages in
sync. I just saw that xfce4-branding-openSUSE cannot be built because of
its hard requirement for metatheme-mint-common. Is that really
necessary? I thought mint is another forked Gnome desktop variation, so
why does XFCE *require* it? Can we work around it?
TIA, cheers.

Hi there,
I just installed the latest updates from X11:xfce/openSUSE_Leap_15.0,
logged out and in again, and my main panel is screwed up again. Here are
the differences between what I had and what I got after the updates:
1. systray got removed, including its settings
2. a separator got added instead
Not as bad as with the last updates, but still...
HTH, cheers.

Hello!
I'm happy to share with you that xfce will have a new look soon in
Tumbleweed :). Here below is a recap of the changes:
* GTK theme: Mint-Y-Darker-Teal (modern look that uses teal as
highlight, matching openSUSE color schemes)
* xfwm4 theme: Mint-Y-Dark-Teal
* icon theme: elementary-xfce (inspired by Tango and Elementary)
* Font: Noto Sans looks good and has a wide support for different
languages, including Asian languages and emojis. Should be default
* Font: Hack is a cool monospace font
* Font: Hint Slight is usually considered a better default for hinting
* Font: Added "rgb" value, recommended setting for LCD screens (if font
looks like a "rainbow" you need to enable lcd filter in Yast > Font module)
Please note that these changes will only affect new installations of TW
with xfce and only if xfce4-branding-openSUSE sub-packages are
installed. Existing users should not be affected by this.

Dear Xfce users,
A new Xfce repository for the unstable release of Xfce Desktop
Environment is now available for openSUSE:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/X11:xfce:rat
RAT is the acronym for "Released After Today", meaning the future
release of Xfce. In a more playful way, a rat is meant to represent the
unpolished nature of this release: a rat is scruffy looking compared to
a mouse (the cute and beloved mascot of Xfce) :-).
The goal of this project is to test and preview the new software so that
bugs can be spotted and fixed ahead of time by contributing upstream.
The software in this repository is from Xfce Git Master Branch thus
meant for development and testing only. Because commits are frequent and
bugs/regressions are very likely, its use in production devices is
strongly discouraged.
We hope you'll have fun with it and anyone is welcome to contribute to
it if wishes to do so!
Cheers,
