This is on 12.3.
Thus far, I did not find a way to enter a folder that I marked in the
left pane tree view with the keyboard. Neither Space nor Enter work.
Only clicking a folder icon with the mouse key works.
And I also did not find a possibility to select the directories in the
Location Selector, if Pathbar Style is activated.

Works fine for me. First, check your settings in "Removable
Drives and Media" in the Settings Manager, then see if there is
any output from thunar-volman in .xsession-errors. Please also
post the output produced by the following commands when you
insert the card:
gvfs-mount --monitor --detail
udisks --monitor-detail
as root: udevadm monitor --udev --property
In addition, please post the output of ck-list-sessions.
Since this doesn't concern Factory we should probably discuss any
further details on opensuse-xfce@.
